Designated as starter on depth chart
Coleman (foot) is listed as one of three starting receivers on the Bills' unofficial depth chart for Sunday's season opener versus the Texans, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
While DJ Moore and Khalil Shakir are secure as Buffalo's top two wideouts in some order, Coleman could be prioritized ahead of Joshua Palmer for the No. 3 spot when the season gets underway. After averaging 9.8 yards per target as a rookie in 2024, Coleman dropped all the way down to 6.8 per game during his sophomore season and also drew the ire of the coaching staff for his lack of professionalism, which played a part in him being a healthy inactive on four occasions. Coleman appears to have received a clean slate entering 2026, and after a strong showing during minicamp, he continued to make a positive impression in training camp before spraining his right foot in an Aug. 18 preseason game against the Panthers. The injury doesn't appear to be a long-term concern, and if he can return to full practice at some point this week, Coleman looks like he could handle a notable role in the passing game in the season opener.
