The Fantasy Footballers: Mock Draft Podcast Recap
As we close out June and prepare to dive into the last stage of the NFL offseason, what better way to celebrate the show returning to shows three days a week than with a MOCK DRAFT?
Andy, Mike, and Jason took to the draft room alongside the Ducers, the Borg, the Fantasy PT, and a handful of staff writers to fine-tune their draft skills. Jason drew the 1.05, Mike drafted from the 1.07, and Andy sat near the turn at the 1.11.
This mock draft used the following setting: 12 teams, 0.5 PPR starting 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, and a FLEX with four bench spots.
It’s better to get caught up before your league mates during the offseason, so make sure to find The Fantasy Footballers Podcast on all of your devices!

Round 1
Jason (1.05) – Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, SEA)
Mike (1.07) – CeeDee Lamb (WR, DAL)
Andy (1.11) – AJ Brown (WR, NE)
The guys get things kicked off in the first round of this mock draft, going three for three at the WR position. Getting a WR to start the draft in a format where we start three WRs helps set up the guys’ rosters to not be behind at a position where the elites dry up quickly, and getting solid depth will be even harder with every team needing to fill those spots.
Each of the Ballers gets a bona fide WR1 for their squads, but Andy took maybe the biggest bet, getting AJ Brown at the end of the round.
It’s worth noting that eight WRs and four RBs went to start the draft across the league.
Round 2

Andy (2.02) – James Cook (RB, BUF)
Mike (2.06) – De’Von Achane (RB, MIA)
Jason (2.08) – Nico Collins (WR, HOU)
There were a couple of different strategies that began to unfold in the second round, with Andy and Mike grabbing an RB each and Jason doubling up on WRs to start his draft. Mike got a great value nabbing De’von Achane in the middle of the round, choosing him over his beloved Chase Brown. Jason’s double-dip at WR sets him up to focus on adding to his RB room through the next few rounds.
Round 2 also saw the first TE go off the board with Brock Bowers going at 2.10, just behind his current ADP. Across the board, we see five different teams that doubled up at the same position, with three teams double-tapping RB and two stacking WRs.
Round 3
Jason (3.05) – Josh Jacobs (RB, GB)
Mike (3.07) – Rashee Rice (WR, KC)
Andy (3.11) – Garrett Wilson (WR, NYJ)
In Round 3, Andy and Mike matched again, both taking WRs again, while Jason grabbed his first RB. Jason felt like he got a bit of value drafting Josh Jacobs at the 3.05, mainly due to the uncertainty around Jacobs’ legal situation, but after drafting two WRs to start the draft, Jason got an RB with top-10 potential to add to his squad.
Mike also ended the slide for another player with legal questions in Rashee Rice. Andy was sniped by Betz, hoping that Trey McBride would fall to the back of the third, but settled for Garrett Wilson. While there is concern about what Wilson can be with the uncertainty around the offense in New York, getting him as a late third-round pick and a team’s WR2 helps mitigate some of the risk Andy’s getting with him being in a stinky situation.
Round 4
Andy (4.02) – Colston Loveland (TE, CHI)
Mike (4.06) – Zay Flowers (WR, BAL)
Jason (4.08) – Cam Skattebo (RB, NYG)
Andy didn’t wait long to address his TE spot after missing out on McBride, nabbing Colston Loveland with his pick in the fourth and filling his first onesie role. Mike finished filling in his starting WRs with what he felt like was good value with Zay Flowers at the 4.06, and Jason balanced out his roster picking Cam Skattebo.
Interestingly enough, all three of the Chicago Bears receiving options went here in the fourth round: Rome Odunze at 4.01, the aforementioned Loveland pick by Andy at 4.02, and Luther Burden at 4.10. Fantasy managers will probably have to plant their flag during draft season as to which in that trio they believe will be the one to break away from the pack and really return their value. Chances are, at least one of these three guys will disappoint for fantasy managers given their current draft cost.
Round 5

Jason (5.05) – Josh Allen (QB, BUF)
Mike (5.07) – D’Andre Swift (RB, CHI)
Andy (5.11) – David Montgomery (RB, HOU)
The fifth round sees some change with Jason taking the first QB of the draft, getting Josh Allen at 5.05. Allen lasting this long isn’t overly typical, with his ADP sitting at 2.12, but that could be a product of the starting three WRs or just the draft room. Andy and Mike each add another RB, with Andy getting a solid RB2 with David Montgomery while Mike uncharacteristically chooses D’Andre Swift.
Maybe the shocker of the fifth round is Papa Josh picking J.K. Dobbins at 5.12. Dobbins absolutely presents tremendous value at his typical ADP of 7.05, but he may lose some of that luster going about a round and a half earlier than that. Still, as the RB26 off the board and the RB2 on Papa Josh’s team, he could present a good value as long as he stays healthy.
Round 6
Andy (6.02) – Alec Pierce (WR, IND)
Mike (6.06) – Tucker Kraft (TE, GB)
Jason (6.08) – Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR, ARI)
We will call Round 6 the round of the QB with four QBs getting picked – Drake Maye, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Jayden Daniels. Maybe the most interesting thing about all four QBs going is that Drake Maye went before the other three. Maye is coming off a breakout season where he finished as the QB2, and the Ballers do have him ranked as their QB2, so maybe it is a warranted draft spot here in the sixth round.
The guys all picked ahead of the QB run, with Andy nabbing what feels like a potential “My Guy” in Alec Pierce and Jason reasserting his belief in Marvin Harrison Jr. Mike did make a pick at a onesie position, but interestingly took Tucker Kraft ahead of Harold Fannin Jr. to make him the fifth TE off the board.
Round 7
Jason (7.05) – Quentin Johnston (WR, LAC)
Mike (7.07) – Tony Pollard (RB, TEN)
Andy (7.11) – Makai Lemon (WR, PHI)
In the thick of the middle rounds, the guys each took players to fill out the FLEX spot in their starting rosters. Jason and Andy each picked WRs they felt had high ceilings for the point in the draft where they got them. Mike, on the other hand, made a nasty pick to add a third RB, nabbing Titans RB Tony Pollard as his team’s third RB. Pollard represents the typical veteran “dead-zone” RB who should have plenty of opportunity, but there are lots of questions around exactly how this new Titans offense will look, and more importantly, how many TD opportunities Pollard may have to bring value to fantasy rosters.
Round 7 saw just two onesie positions taken, with Jalen Hurts going at the 7.06 and Harold Fannin at 7.12. This is significant because these two players probably represent a tier break at their respective positions for many fantasy managers, especially at QB, which we saw with only one QB taken over the next two rounds.
Round 8

Andy (8.02) – Jaxson Dart (QB, NYG)
Mike (8.06) – Jacory Croskey-Merritt (RB, WAS)
Jason (8.08) – Kenneth Gainwell (RB, TB)
Speaking of tier breaks, somewhere between Round 6 and 7, it feels like the RB choices went from the “probably a starter and you can play him as a FLEX” to the “probably a backup but could have value” roles pretty quickly. Mike and Jason each took a shot at RBs in ambiguous backfields with Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Kenny Gainwell.
Meanwhile, Andy nabbed his QB in a huge jerk move, ruining my delicious Jaxson Dart–Malik Nabers stack. Dart represents one of the few QBs outside of the top six guys taken at the position who could realistically finish as a top-3 guy if he can stay healthy.
Round 9
Jason (9.05) – Matthew Golden (WR, GB)
Mike (9.07) – Romeo Doubs (WR, NE)
Andy (9.11) – Zach Charbonnet (RB, SEA)
At this point in the draft, all of the teams are working to build their depth before the draft pools dry up completely. Round 9 saw only one player at a onesie position taken (Kyle Pitts at 9.06) and a whopping eight WRs taken.
Jason and Mike took two of those WRs, getting Matthew Golden and Romeo Doubs added to their rosters. Andy took a shot picking Zach Charbonnet, making that just the third RB on his team. Charbonnet presents sneaky value this late in the draft on the off chance that he can return from injury early enough in the season to reclaim his role in the Seahawks backfield alongside rookie Jadarian Price.
Round 10
Andy (10.02) – Antonio Williams (WR, WAS)
Mike (10.06) – Dak Prescott (QB, DAL)
Jason (10.08) – Sam LaPorta (TE, DET)
The late-round QB managers started claiming their guys in Round 10, and Mike was one of them, getting Dak Prescott to complete his Dallas Cowboys stack. Jason also got into the onesie action this round, surprisingly picking Sam LaPorta. On the June 16 episode of the podcast, the guys discussed LaPorta, and Jason was the only one to take the stand that the Lions TE was overrated. Jason did clarify with his selection that, based on LaPorta’s ADP of 8.03, he felt like the value was not there, but he was more comfortable with the value of taking him at the 10.08.
While Mike and Jason filled all of their starter spots, Andy took a flyer on Commanders rookie Antonio Williams as his 5th WR, but the first he’d taken in three rounds.
Round 11

Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images
Jason (11.05) – Mike Washington (RB, LV)
Mike (11.07) – Ted Hurst (WR, TB)
Andy (11.11) – Bo Nix (QB, DEN)
As the mock draft begins to wind down, the Ballers each have all of their starters filled, so they each went in different directions with their 11th pick. Jason chose to add to his pretty shallow RB room on the Raiders rookie Mike Washington as the potential RB2 in Las Vegas. Washington has a pretty clear pathway to the backup RB role for Vegas and could work his way into a committee alongside Ashton Jeanty, given his massive athleticism.
Mike also added a crazy athletic rookie to his team, picking Ted “Fred Durst” Hurst to be his WR5. Hurst may be in a crowded WR room with the Buccaneers, but his body type and elite athleticism may help him find his way into an outside role sooner than later during his rookie season.
Andy went a completely different direction with his selection of Bo Nix. While Jaxson Dart has massive upside for a fantasy roster, there are plenty of injury concerns based on what we saw from his rookie season, when he missed a pair of games and had plenty of other scares along the way. Getting another QB like Nix is a great insurance policy to prevent a huge dropoff at QB if Dart were to go down with an injury.
Round 12
Andy (12.02) – Tyreek Hill (WR, ?)
Mike (12.06) – De’Zhaun Stribling (WR, SF)
Jason (12.08) – Tank Dell (WR, HOU)
At this point in the draft, picks are being made purely for upside, and each of the guys took players with varying upside. While he isn’t on a roster as of yet, Andy took a flyer on Tyreek Hill, who we feel confident will find his way onto a roster around training camp. Since Hill gets to hand-pick his team, fantasy managers should assume it will be in a spot on a competitive team with an offense where he could find decent fantasy success if he’s healthy.
Mike took the oft-forgotten sixth WR off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft, De’Zhaun Stribling. Stribling represents a high draft capital asset in an offense that fantasy managers have always found success in, but at a huge discount in the 12th round. At this point in the draft, even if Stribling takes a while to see the field, he is worth having on a roster.
Jason capped off his draft with a real wildcard of a pick with Houston’s Tank Dell. Dell is still recovering from an injury he suffered near the end of the 2024 season, and his status is up in the air for 2026. All that said, with the departure of Christian Kirk this offseason, if Dell can come back into shape, he could maybe return some value for fantasy managers late in drafts.
