Borg’s DFS Cash Lineup Review for Week 7 (Fantasy Football)
Week 7 was a doozy. The chalk, once again, was incredibly strong and if you got cute in cash, you were buried.
The goal of this article is neither to boast nor wallow in “shoulda, woulda, couldas” but rather give a transparent look at my thought process for the week. Hopefully, this will help DFS & Betting Podcast listeners and DFS Pass subscribers get a deeper window into the ups and downs of playing DFS and help you in your selections each week. On Tuesdays, Betz and I review our cash lineups, and this week we’ll give some common overreactions we see and hear.
For cash, I specifically play 50/50s, Double-Ups, and H2Hs on DraftKings. I’ll share my unfiltered gut reaction, and the thought process behind this lineup construction, and at the bottom, I will post my weekly results including the cash line and H2H record to stay accountable with you.
If you want to go back to the drawing board, we did an overview podcast before the season on DFS Cash Game Strategy + Creating Player Pools. I also published an article on DFS Strategy for Beginners and another entitled: How to Approach Each Position in DFS & Gain an Edge.
Week 7 Cash Lineup
Draft % and cash lines each week will be from DraftKings’ $25 Single-Entry Double-Up with roughly 5,000 entries. This is a slightly elevated price point from the $1, $5, and $10 double-ups and I think gives a solid idea each week of double-up roster percentages.
The Thought Process
Cash Locks (In My Opinion)
- In our Week 7 DFS Best Plays (which comes out on Saturdays for DFS Pass subscribers only), I shared the pool of players and this week was blatantly obvious who the top plays were.
- Our top RB was the easiest choice of the week. I wrote in Best Plays: “I’ve got Quinshon Judkins locked into my cash lineup. He represents the perfect blend of pricing ($6000), matchup (MIA), and game environment that begs us to play him in cash this week. He ranks ranks fifth in rush yards over expected per attempt among qualified RBs and the Dolphins might be the league’s worst rush defense. Over the last two weeks, they’ve been completely demolished by Rico Dowdle & Kimani Vidal and now rank DEAD LAST in rushing yards allowed to RBs- 134 per game. For context, they are currently on pace to allow the 5th MOST rushing yards to opposing RBs of any team over the last decade.”
- Rashee Rice was the lock of the week and Chris Olave was begging us to play him with the mountain of expected fantasy points.
- Those top-3 felt like virtual locks in lineups.
Gut-Wrenching Decisions
My goal in this section is to discuss the pool of players I considered for cash and how I arrived at my final lineup.
- I really only debated between Jayden Daniels and Patrick Mahomes at QB. We mentioned how this would be a pay up spot. With the mountain of injuries piling up for the Commanders, I felt more comfortable with Mahomes as the pricing difference didn’t really matter…. at the time.
- That QB decision ultimately led me down a path that pivoted both my DST and FLEX options.
- Cash/H2H formats essentially came down to 2v2 decisions where there is so much overlap (between content and conversation) about who the best plays are. Locking in Judkins and Hall as affordable RBs made sense for a median outcome. I did bring up a number of concerns related to Breece on the podcast that I slowly buried with “welp, I guess the field will play him”. Betz talked about this trust your guy phenomenon in his GPP Review article.
- The decision was paying up for CeeDee Lamb or utilizing that salary at RB for Taylor or Jacobs. I did not expect the field to be able to pay up for Jonathan Taylor as much as they did. The cheaper WAS WR options like Chris Moore (late in the process) certainly made that more available to the field.
- The other WRs I considered: Michael Pittman Jr., Ladd McConkey, A.J. Brown, and Chris Moore. However, it was not really a real decision at WR as I could comfortably fit in my top-3 WRs.
- TE had a multitude of options from the elites (McBride and Warren), the mid range (Ertz), and the cheaper guys (Mayer and Taylor). You know how I feel about Tyler Warren but I figured the salary savings this week would start with Mayer, who was targeted on 35% of his routes the previous week.
- The hardest part of cash decisions this week was what to do at RB2 and FLEX positions. I prized Lamb in a better game environment and the leftover salary allowed me to fit in Tyler Warren, who was projecting just as well as some of the other options. Maybe my heart got in the way because Michael Pittman Jr. also was in range for $100 cheaper.
- Don’t talk to me about DST. I’m a bit salty after I chose DEN > NE with the salary I had available.
What Did the Field Do
My goal in this section is to discuss the pool of players used the most in cash style contests. You can compare the roster percentage, DK outputs, and how much of their salary they X’ed this week.
Mistakes Were Made …
Every week I’ll highlight my biggest mistakes which range from not weighing low-end outcomes to assuming, to not thinking, and ultimately moving away from plays I started with. We’ve all been there… stay water. Don’t try to justify yourself or make things sound better than they were. You made a decision, now deal with it.
- Not trusting my gut related to Breece Hall.
- Prioritizing an expensive DST is always demoralizing. However, every single DST smashed… except Denver.
2025 Results
Each week I’ll post my head-to-head (H2H) win percentage here to give you an idea of what type of week I had. Keep in mind there are varying price points, competition, and players who take my H2Hs in the lobby that have no rhyme or reason. The volume of my H2Hs differs each week due to my feeling of the slate and my weekend activities with my family. Every week I will also post the “cash line” from the $25 Double-Up from DraftKings.

Welp, that final NYG score cost me the week. What a wild game and wild outcome for DFS considering I was so far ahead for the majority of the day.
