Hello, and welcome back for another week of this flex options article. If you’re looking for a spot start this week, and you’ve got a guy on your roster whose name starts with “J,” throw him in your lineup. Whether it’s Jaylen (x2), Jaxon, Jerry, or Jakobi, odds are they’re a good play this week. As always, this list is for players outside the top 24 in the Fantasy Footballers Rankings who I think have a good chance of beating their projection and helping you win your week. Here are the names:

Jaylen Warren

Warren finds his way into this list again after delivering on last week’s promise of a solid floor. His usage in this offense continues to trend upward, seeing 16 total touches last week and turning them into an efficient 95 total yards. He lost a fumble last week, which cost him two points in most scoring formats, but he still registered a solid 8.5 points for your flex spot. It’s a tough matchup on paper this week against a Baltimore defense that’s been stout against the run, but they’ve been giving up plenty of fantasy points through the air, including nine receptions on 11 targets to Cincinnati’s running back Chase Brown last week. Warren tends to get more of the passing down work than his backfield mate Najee Harris. If this game script goes as expected and Pittsburgh is playing catch-up against Lamar Jackson, Jaylen Warren could be in for a busy night. I like his floor again this week, and I think he has sneaky explosive touchdown upside in this matchup.

Jaylen Waddle

It’s been a season of drastically shifting expectations downward for Jaylen Waddle, who many drafted to be their every-week WR2 this year. The truth is that even with Tua Tagovailoa back and healthy, Waddle has been a distant third in the target pecking order behind Tyreek Hill and De’Von Achane. Last week, however, there seemed to be a concerted effort to get Waddle involved in the game plan, especially early in the game. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Waddle had a bad drop which ended a drive for Miami, and Tagovailoa was late getting him the ball on a busted coverage that would’ve resulted in a long touchdown had the ball gotten to him sooner.

It wasn’t a big night for Waddle, but I’m putting him in this article to remind fantasy players that he can still be started as a flex option with big play upside. His lack of steady volume gives him a scary floor, but he’s always just one play away from a big fantasy week… if he doesn’t lose it in the lights.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

The last time Smith-Njigba took the field, he finished as the overall WR1 on the week thanks to 13 targets from Geno Smith, of which he caught seven for 180 yards and two touchdowns. DK Metcalf is likely to return this week from a knee injury that’s held him out since Week 7, but the matchup with San Francisco this week has shootout potential with a 48.5 point over/under. Smith-Njigba saw nine targets last time Seattle faced San Francisco, and I’d expect him to see a similar volume in this one as Seattle tries to keep up with their divisional rival. Flex JSN this week in hopes that he can stay hot.

Jerry Jeudy

Cedric Tillman isn’t the only Cleveland Browns receiver who’s been enjoying a nice boon since the team made the quarterback switch to Jameis Winston. Jeudy’s garnered 19 total targets in the two games with Winston under center, averaging 76 yards per game over that stretch. Jeudy hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1, and I’m not necessarily expecting one from him this week, but if you believe in the notion that he might be due… that narrative exists. Touchdown upside aside, he should have a decent floor in this one thanks to volume. Ideally, Winston comes out and slings a couple of early pick-sixes leaving Cleveland in catch-up mode.

Jakobi Meyers

Meyers won’t qualify as a flex option much longer if he keeps up this consistent WR2 production he’s had since the Davante Adams trade. He’s the number one option in the Raiders’ passing game, and he should continue to have a solid floor as such. He’s an every-week flex right now, including this one against a Miami Dolphins defense that just allowed Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp to combine for 16 receptions.
