Contract still unresolved
Brissett and the Cardinals have yet to work out a new contract ahead of players reporting for training camp Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The veteran signal-caller is currently slated to play out 2026 on the final year of a contract set to pay him $4.88 million, a bargain for an NFL starter, and while both sides agree a raise would be warranted, that's been as far as talks seem to have gone. The Cardinals have a capable backup available in Gardner Minshew, who has taken the majority of first-team reps this offseason. Donnie Druin of SI.com reports that rookie third-round pick Carson Beck also remains unsigned and is working to negotiate increased guaranteed money, as he uses Brissett's contract impasse as leverage. Brissett completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 3,366 yards and a 23:8 TD:INT over 14 regular-season appearances with Arizona in 2025.
