Borg’s DFS Cash Lineup Review for Week 15 (Fantasy Football)
I had a weekend away with the wife… only to be interrupted with one our kids getting very sick with a fever.
Things don’t always go as planned.
The goal of this article is neither to boast nor wallow in “shoulda, woulda, couldas” but rather give a transparent look at my thought process for the week. Hopefully, this will help DFS & Betting Podcast listeners and DFS Pass subscribers get a deeper window into the ups and downs of playing DFS and help you in your selections each week. On Tuesdays, Betz and I review our cash lineups, and this week we’ll give some common overreactions we see and hear.
For cash, I specifically play 50/50s, Double-Ups, and H2Hs on DraftKings. I’ll share my unfiltered gut reaction, and the thought process behind this lineup construction, and at the bottom, I will post my weekly results including the cash line and H2H record to stay accountable with you.
If you want to go back to the drawing board, we did an overview podcast before the season on DFS Cash Game Strategy + Creating Player Pools. I also published an article on DFS Strategy for Beginners and another entitled: How to Approach Each Position in DFS & Gain an Edge.
Week 15 Cash Lineup
Draft % and cash lines each week will be from DraftKings’ $10 Single-Entry Double-Up with roughly 5,000 entries. This is a slightly elevated price point from the $1 and $5 double-ups and I think gives a solid idea each week of double-up roster percentages.
The Thought Process
Cash Locks (In My Opinion)
- In our Week 15 DFS Best Plays (which comes out on Saturdays for DFS Pass subscribers only), I shared the pool of players and this week was blatantly obvious who the top plays were.
- Woody Marks was the cheap $5K RB you had circled early in the week based on matchup and workload. He was injured so the result was less than stellar but Marks was not the crux of your lineup passing or failing this week.
- I wrote about CMC as my locked in cash play: “I can’t pass up the opportunity to play Christian McCaffrey this week as a 12.5-point home favorite. $9,000 isn’t expensive enough for the type of workload he’s seeing: 43% of the team’s total rush attempts and targets on the season. That is the highest % in the NFL and warrants him being above $10K.
- I wanted to fit two stud WRs in this week. Puka Nacua and Ja’Marr Chase were easily my top-2 WRs for cash.
- I knew I would be going 12-personnel this week. Harold Fannin Jr. was a lock and while the result (12 DK points) might seem middling, consider the usage: 14 targets!
Gut-Wrenching Decisions
My goal in this section is to discuss the pool of players I considered for cash and how I arrived at my final lineup.
- I need to be as clear as humanly possible: I did almost no tinkering this weekend with my DFS lineup. I notified our Discord but after writing the Tournament Takes article, I took my wife out to an annual pre-Christmas weekend we’ve done for years. It’s just the two of us for a weekend and I did not log back on once. I realized that my computer was completely off until Monday AM.
- Most of my thoughts on here are related to what we talked about on Friday’s podcast as there was little news that changed the slate from a cash perspective.
- Despite already basically having two expensive WRs locked in my lineup, I really did like this spot for Nico Collins… ranking him as my WR3. However, the fear of not having one of Puka or Chase in my lineup was greater.
- At QB, I only considered Marcus Mariota or Jaxson Dart. While Mariota was my QB1 in my ranks, I noticed that I didn’t really know where to spend the extra $600 in my lineup. I liked Dart’s raw projection better and his upside with his legs so I figured take him on a week with the highest implied total of the Giants’ season.
- Because I knew 2 TEs would be my preference, the only options I looked at were Theo Johnson, Colby Parkinson, and Mike Gesicki. In hindsight, getting up to Theo probably made more sense as a stack but Gesicki’s splits with Tee Higgins out of the lineup stayed with me. I figured in a full PPR format he would see 4+ receptions.
- I knew I needed to complete the stars and scrub built with a cheap WR. Mitchell Tinsley was the name everyone went with but with Gesicki in my lineup, I didn’t want three Bengals. I mentioned Jack Bech earlier in the week as someone on the field who I loved from our Dynasty Podcast. I had no clue he would not be played at any rate but I also was fairly unplugged over the weekend. He was cheap, he’d be on the field, and I figured the Raiders would throw the ball 35+ times against the Eagles. Instead, the team bottomed out with 75 TOTAL yards. Woof. He still beat Tinsley!
- At DST, punting off with the Saints made my lineup work. I was slightly worried with the field paying up a stud (HOU or SEA) but it ended up not mattering as the majority of the field also didn’t care about DST this week.
What Did the Field Do
My goal in this section is to discuss the pool of players used the most in cash style contests. You can compare the roster percentage, DK outputs, and how much of their salary they X’ed this week.
Mistakes Were Made …
Every week I’ll highlight my biggest mistakes which range from not weighing low-end outcomes to assuming, to not thinking, and ultimately moving away from plays I started with. We’ve all been there… stay water. Don’t try to justify yourself or make things sound better than they were. You made a decision, now deal with it.
- Despite liking the matchup for Mike Gesicki, playing him in cash was a bit wild.
- Playing around with lineups with Nico Collins in it would’ve gotten me away from some of the stars and scrubs builds.
2025 Results
Each week I’ll post my head-to-head (H2H) win percentage here to give you an idea of what type of week I had. Keep in mind there are varying price points, competition, and players who take my H2Hs in the lobby that have no rhyme or reason. The volume of my H2Hs differs each week due to my feeling of the slate and my weekend activities with my family. Every week I will also post the “cash line” from the $25 Double-Up from DraftKings.
