Week 4 Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football)
Week 4 waivers are here! After another wild week of football, there are a lot of questions about who to target for your roster heading into Week 3. Below is a list of the players to target if you need a Week 3 pickup. Listen or watch today’s Week 4 Waivers episode of The Fantasy Footballers podcast for a full breakdown of these waiver adds, plus players to consider dropping!
Wide Receivers
Team | Player | Roster % | Upcoming |
BUF | Emmanuel Sanders | 37% | vs HOU @ KC @ TEN |
BUF | Cole Beasley | 67% | vs HOU @ KC @ TEN |
DEN | Tim Patrick | 37% | vs BAL @ PIT vs LV |
ARI | Christian Kirk | 58% | @ LAR vs SF @ CLE |
LV | Hunter Renfrow | 22% | @ LAC vs CHI @ DEN |
LV | Bryan Edwards | 37% | @ LAC vs CHI @ DEN |
WAS | Curtis Samuel | 58% | @ ATL vs NO vs KC |
PHI | Jalen Reagor | 41% | vs KC @ CAR vs TB |
NYJ | Jamison Crowder | 20% | vs TEN @ ATL BYE |
If Tim Patrick is still available then swooping him up would be a good idea. He has been consistent so far in 2021 with double-digit fantasy points in PPR scoring formats. QB Teddy Bridgewater has been looking his way, even with Courtland Sutton a full participant. Teammate K.J. Hamler, unfortunately, suffered a season-ending ACL tear, so Bridgewater will be targeting both wide receivers even more as the season progresses.
Whether or not the Raiders can continue on their winning streak remains to be seen, but QB Derek Carr doesn’t look like he’s slowing down anytime soon. They haven’t been blowing out opponents either, which means a lot of passing for the receivers. In fact, Carr leads the league passing yards so far in 2021 with over 1200. That number so far has been sustainable for multiple wide receivers to get their share of targets. Both Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards are prime targets on the wire are 22% and 37% rostered respectively on Sleeper. Renfrow will likely be the volume play where Edwards may have the higher ceiling. Either way, both of these players should be an add, especially if you need help at the wide receiver position.
Another name to check is Arizona’s Christian Kirk. He is rostered in over half of leagues, but it doesn’t hurt to check to see if he might be floating around. Kyler Murray has been white-hot and DeAndre Hopkins is a little banged up so Kirk has been able to capitalize in the Cardinals offense.

Running Backs
Team | Player | Roster % | Upcoming |
CAR | Chuba Hubbard | 40% | @ DAL vs PHI vs MIN |
ATL | Cordarrelle Patterson | 66% | vs WAS vs NYJ BYE |
LAR | Sony Michel | 63% | vs ARI @ SEA @ NYG |
BUF | Zack Moss | 63% | vs HOU @ KC @ TEN |
IND | Nyheim Hines | 74% | @ MIA @ BAL vs HOU |
BAL | Latavius Murray | 62% | @ DEN vs IND vs LAC |
PHI | Kenneth Gainwell | 50% | vs KC @ CAR vs TB |
LV | Peyton Barber | 7% | @ LAC vs CHI @ DEN |
NE | Rhamondre Stevenson | 22% | vs TB @ HOU vs DAL |
NE | J.J. Taylor | 1% | vs TB @ HOU vs DAL |
Let’s go ahead and get the obvious one out of the way. Chuba Hubbard is a must-add whether you are the Christian McCaffrey manager or not. His production will be nowhere near that of McCaffrey but his volume alone is enough to prioritize him above all other options. Frankly, I am shocked he is not rostered in more than 40% of leagues. However, McCaffrey’s missed time may not be long as he avoided the Injured Reserve.
If you are desperate for a running back, Peyton Barber is an option as long as Josh Jacobs remains banged up. This is a little riskier because it relies on the health of Jacobs and the Raiders play on Monday night in Week 4. Barber was slow to get going in Week 2, but turned it around in Week against the Dolphins with a whopping 23 carries for 111 yards and rushing touchdown as well as three receptions on five targets for 31 yards. He is only rostered in 7% of leagues.
A speculative add that could have some value or could completely bust is the Buccaneers’ newcomer Giovani Bernard. Although, yes, he is a running back, he didn’t have a single carry in Sunday’s game against the Rams. Instead, he saw 10 targets with nine receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. However, he is currently day-to-day after suffering a slight MCL sprain. As long as Ronald Jones is firmly relegated to the Bruce Arians dog house, Bernard (when healthy) may be an option in PPR formats as the pass-catching back to Leonard Fournette.

Tight Ends
Team | Player | Roster % | Upcoming |
MIN | Tyler Conklin | 8% | vs CLE vs DET @ CAR |
NYG | Evan Engram | 44% | @ NO @ DAL vs LAR |
MIA | Mike Gesicki | 68% | vs IND @ TB @ JAX |
BUF | Dawson Knox | 11% | vs HOU @ KC @ TEN |
ARI | Maxx Williams | 6% | @ LAR vs SF @ CLE |
DAL | Blake Jarwin | 5% | vs CAR vs NYG @ NE |
The wasteland that is the tight end landscape continues into Week 4. If Mike Gesicki is somehow available, he is a must-add TE. It’s unlikely since he is rostered in 68% of leagues, but it doesn’t hurt to look. Gesicki was targeted a whopping 12 targets in the first game with Jacoby Brissett at QB.
If you want to play the “who-will-get-rock” game between TE Tyler Conklin and WR K.J. Osborn, be my guest. Conklin will be a boom or bust option that is entirely dependent on what defenses decide to do with Osborn. They do face Cleveland in Week 4 and then Detroit in Week 5 so the schedule isn’t terrible, but there is no guarantee he will see the targets necessary to be fantasy relevant.
Bills TE Dawson Knox can be classified in the same boom or bust category and his production is entirely dependent on touchdowns. As we know, touchdowns are very difficult to predict.
If you are truly desperate or in deeper leagues, Pat Freiermuth of the Pittsburgh Steelers is a speculative add. There is a lot going wrong in Pittsburgh right now. Diontae Johnson and Juju Smith-Schuster are both banged up and Ben Roethlisberger seems incapable of throwing downfield to Chase Claypool. By process of elimination, that leaves Freiermuth. Fellow TE Eric Ebron has not been consistent with his catch rate so Big Ben may start targeting the rookie more often in short-field plays to move the chains as well as in the red zone.
If you’re doing the TE dumpster dive this week, listen/watch The Fantasy Footballers discuss these options on today’s Week 4 Waivers show.

Would also agree. As a daily listener, FAAB only comes up sometimes on specific players. It would be nice to hear it referenced on the show more or at least in the article.
No mention of FAAB here and rarely a mention of FAAB on the podcast.
Absolutely agree. FAAB percentage would be great but I haven’t ever heard, is that percentage of original balance or remaining balance?
Is Ty’son Williams really trustworthy or is he worth a dump to pick up cordarrelle patterson who is ranked lower but has been more consistent?
As suggested before, can we please get these list in order of priority/faab amount? Rostered percentages don’t really do diddly squat for subscribers
