Week 4 of football came and went without too many crazy (weather) things happening.

Really, aside from a few warm games and the two thunderstorm delays we had Week 1, it’s been a pretty quiet season so far on the weather side of things.  Which is a good thing, but it does beg a few questions. Does the nice weather so far mean that winter will be terrible? Does the NFL have some secret kind of weather manipulation device? And the most important question of all, what does Week 5 look like?

Well, I can answer the last question. Read below, dear reader, and we will see if this nice stretch of good weather will keep on happening!

International Game (London)

Minnesota Vikings @ Cleveland Browns

LOW impact. Another international game and another game with fairly minimal impacts. No rain is expected, along with mostly cloudy skies. It will be decently windy, with sustained speeds in the mid to upper teens. However, with the size of the stadium (it’s big), I don’t think much of it will reach the playing field. Just do a quick check prior to kickoff, and you should be good to go. Even if it is windy, it’s not high enough to significantly impact QBs or WRs in the game (not that you are likely starting any QB in this game, but if you are, I salute you).

Sunday Early Afternoon Games

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets

LOW impact. An absolutely gorgeous afternoon in the Northeast for football. Mostly sunny skies, light winds, and temperatures in the lower 80s. No issues, let all your players rip.

Denver Broncos @ Philadelphia Eagles

LOW impact. Light winds, high temperature in the lower-80s, and sunny skies? We take those days. Don’t let the weather be a factor for your starts and sits when it comes to this game.

Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers

LOW impact. Another game with not a whole lot of weather impacts. Partly cloudy skies, light winds, and game-time temperatures in the low 80s. Some wild weather would make this game a bit more interesting, but still, there are fantasy points to be had (somewhere).

Houston Texans  @ Baltimore Ravens

LOW impact. Is “tranquil” a strong enough word to describe how nice it will be on Sunday in Baltimore? Well, that’s what I’m going with to describe conditions. High temperatures in the upper-70’s, partly cloudy skies, and light winds. Start all your usual players.

Sunday Late Afternoon Games

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks

LOW impact. Sunny skies, high temperatures in the mid-60s, and light winds? In Seattle? In October?? I was joking about the NFL weather-controlling machine before, but now I’m starting to wonder…This game is shaping up to be an awesome Sunday. I’m not sure how many more chances I’ll get to coin Seattle with the “GOOD WEATHER GAME OF THE WEEK”, so they win this week.

Detroit Lions @ Cincinnati Bengals

LOW impact. Another game with no issues. Sunny skies, high temperature in the mid-80s, calm winds. Start all your studs.

Sunday Night Game

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills

LOW impact. Wrapping up Sunday with another gorgeous game. Mostly clear skies, temperatures in the low-60s, and calm winds. Start everyone you would normally start in this game.

Monday Night Game

Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars

MEDIUM impact. Finally, some weather to write about! Expect some scattered rain showers as well as some potential thunderstorms throughout much of the game. Winds will also be in the lower teens (sustained) with gusts to the upper teens. The rain showers don’t look to be particularly intense, but if one moves directly over the stadium, it’ll likely cause a shift to a more run-based offense. You shouldn’t necessarily bench anyone over this, but if you have a reasonable alternative to shift to, you may want to consider that.

Best of luck to your team in the week ahead!
