Fantasy Football: Week 2 Streamers to Consider
We’re finally here. Week 1 is officially in the books, and hopefully, most of you came out with a W. If not, don’t worry. There’s still a long way to go, and anything can happen. The key is making sure you squeeze every possible point from your roster each week. And streaming can be a great way to do that.
Maybe you drafted a late-round QB and you are not feeling great about him. Maybe your kicker is in a low-scoring matchup with limited kicking opportunities. Or maybe your D/ST is facing an explosive offense like the Bills or the Ravens. Whatever your situation, this article brings you some plug-and-play options with favorable matchups at those “onesie” positions, ready to help you maximize points and win the week.
If you want to double-check if you should pivot from your current starters to one of these streamers, you can always check Andy, Mike, and Jason’s weekly rankings and the Start/Sit tool to compare players and make the best choice for your lineup. You can also use the Ultimate Dashboard to get specific spot-start suggestions tailored for your fantasy team.
Let’s dive into the streaming pool.
Quarterbacks
J.J. McCarthy – Minnesota Vikings (63% rostered)
We finally got to see J.J. McCarthy take the reins as the Vikings’ starter against the Bears. He did a pretty decent job, completing 13 of 20 attempts for 143 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 25 yards. Now, he has a very favorable matchup against the Falcons, who gave up the third-most fantasy points per game to QBs last season. In Week 1, Baker Mayfield threw three TDs with no turnovers. If McCarthy is still available in your league, he’s a strong streaming option.
Joe Flacco – Cleveland Browns (22% rostered)
Flacco’s season debut against the Bengals wasn’t great overall, but he looked much better in the second half. He’s not the most consistent fantasy QB, but he gets a solid matchup this week against the Ravens’ porous pass defense, which allowed over 18 fantasy points per game to QBs last season. He already showed good chemistry with Cedric Tillman and Jerry Jeudy, and he could post a decent fantasy score trying to keep up with Lamar Jackson and company.
Russell Wilson or Jaxson Dart – New York Giants (Both 14% rostered)
Head coach Brian Daboll hasn’t announced who will start yet, so both Giants QBs are worth monitoring. Wilson struggled mightily in Week 1, but whoever starts gets a great matchup against the Cowboys, who allowed the most fantasy points per game to QBs last season. Dallas couldn’t force any turnovers against Jalen Hurts last week. Of course, neither Wilson nor Dart is Jalen Hurts, but if you’re desperate, the matchup is there.
Geno Smith – Las Vegas Raiders (19% rostered)
Geno threw for 362 yards and a TD last week. If not for all the sacks by the Patriots defense, he would’ve topped 20 fantasy points. And now he has a very interesting Monday-night matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, who just had a big shootout against the Chiefs in Brazil. We could see a lot of fantasy points on both sides of the ball in this game, and Geno Smith should be a fine streamer, especially if Brock Bowers suits up after leaving the game last Sunday with a knee injury.
Kickers
Tyler Loop – Baltimore Ravens (61% rostered)
Remember Brandon Aubrey two years ago? Well, Tyler Loop could be this year’s Brandon Aubrey. And this might be the last call to get on the Loop train. This rookie was the second kicker drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, and as soon as the Ravens picked him in the sixth round, they said goodbye to long-time fantasy legend Justin Tucker. It didn’t take long for Loop to show he can fill those big shoes. In his first start, he nailed his two field-goal attempts (one of them over 50 yards) and scored four out of five extra points. The Ravens will constantly play in high-scoring matchups, and this week they’re favorites by 12.5 in a 44.5 over/under line. Loop could easily hit double-digit fantasy points.
Brandon McManus – Green Bay Packers (10% rostered)
The Packers looked pretty good on offense in Week 1, scoring 27 points against the Lions’ tough defense. This provided Brandon McManus with two field-goal opportunities and three extra-point attempts. He nailed all of them. Now he’ll have the chance to continue scoring fantasy points for your roster against the Washington Commanders, in what projects to be the second-highest-scoring game of Week 2.
Matt Gay – Washington Commanders (30% rostered)
That same game should provide plenty of scoring on both sides, making Matt Gay another strong kicker option. He only scored three points last week due to the lack of field goal chances, but he hit all three extra points. Don’t be fooled by the low total—he’s a solid streamer in what should be a high-scoring game at Lambeau Field.
Defense & Special Teams
Los Angeles Rams (25% rostered)
The Rams had a solid Week 1 against the Texans, sacking C.J. Stroud three times and forcing two turnovers. Now they face the Titans, and rookie Cam Ward looked completely overwhelmed against the Broncos. The Rams might not be as stingy as Denver, but based on what we saw last week, I’d stream them with confidence.
New England Patriots (26% rostered)
Something’s off with the Dolphins’ offense. Tua threw two interceptions and lost a fumble against the Colts, and the offense looked disconnected. The Patriots, meanwhile, sacked Geno Smith four times and picked him off once. So they should be able to take advantage of the Dolphins’ mess in what projects to be a low-scoring divisional matchup. This game has a 44.5 Vegas line, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it hits the under.
BONUS: Tight End
Dallas Goedert – Philadelphia Eagles (67% rostered)
Not as available as other TEs, but Goedert’s rostered percentage will definitely go up this week. He saw seven targets in Week 1 and caught all of them for 44 yards, accounting for 30% of the team’s total targets. Jalen Hurts should keep looking Goedert’s way in a TE-friendly matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, who allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to TEs last season.
