Fantasy Football: Week 14 Streamers To Consider
This is it. The final week of the regular fantasy football season (in most leagues) is upon us. You might have already clinched a playoff spot, or you might still need this final win to secure one. Either way, getting a W this week is crucial to boost your chances of reaching the ultimate goal: a Fantasy Championship.
This week, we’ve got four teams on bye: the Panthers, Patriots, Giants, and 49ers. That means many fantasy managers will have to rely on the art of streaming to score as many points as possible. If you’ve been riding Drake Maye’s excellent season or trusting Jaxson Dart’s mobility, you will need to stream a QB this week. But fear not! This weekly article highlights viable streamers for all your onesie positions: QB, K, DST, and TE.
Of course, if you need extra guidance to pick the perfect streamer, don’t forget to check out Andy, Mike, and Jason’s weekly rankings and the Fantasy Footballers’ Ultimate Dashboard, where you’ll find convenient spot-start suggestions tailored to your lineup.
Let’s see what the streaming pool has to offer this week.
Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones – Indianapolis Colts (80% rostered)
So why am I mentioning “Indiana” Jones here? Well, his rostered percentage has been dropping since he fractured his fibula. He’s playing through the injury, and while his fantasy finish wasn’t spectacular last week, he wasn’t bad either, especially considering he faced one of the top pass defenses. If your league is among the lucky 20% where he is still available, grab him for an excellent matchup against the Jaguars, who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to QBs.
Tyler Shough – New Orleans Saints (12% rostered)
I know Tyler Shough isn’t the QB you want to stream when your playoff hopes are on the line. But he showed up last week, completing 26 passes for 239 yards and two TDs against Miami’s vulnerable pass defense. Shough has been slinging it, logging 81 pass attempts over the past two weeks. Now he gets an even better matchup against the Buccaneers, who have given up over 20 fantasy points per game to QBs.
J.J. McCarthy – Minnesota Vikings (23% rostered)
Another desperation option if you are in need of a QB. J.J. McCarthy is expected to clear the concussion protocol for this week’s game against Washington. The Vikings’ offense was absolutely terrible last week with Max Brosmer, and even though McCarthy hasn’t been great lately, he can be serviceable in the right matchup. This week, he will play against the Commanders’ defense, which has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to QBs.
Kickers
Evan McPherson (27% rostered)
Joe Burrow is back, and the Bengals’ offense is looking great. Last week against the Ravens, Evan McPherson had one of the best games of his career, nailing four field-goal attempts (including one over 50 yards) and two extra points. More than enough to finish as the week’s #1 kicker in fantasy. Now the Bengals will face the Bills in what Vegas projects to be the second-highest-scoring game of the week. McPherson shouldn’t be this available. Pick him up while you can.
Harrison Mevis – Los Angeles Rams (3% rostered)
Since taking over for Joshua Karty, Mevis hasn’t missed a single kick. He hasn’t had high fantasy output yet, mostly because the Rams have been scoring most of their points in the form of TDs. Mevis has only had two field-goal attempts in his four weeks in the NFL. But he has not missed a single kick so far, and this week’s matchup against the Cardinals could offer more opportunities, especially with Arizona improving offensively under Jacoby Brissett.
Cairo Santos – Chicago Bears (45% rostered)
Last week wasn’t great for Cairo Santos, with just one field goal attempt, but he did convert all four of his kicking attempts. This week’s game against the Packers could turn into a shootout with plenty of fantasy points to go around. Let’s just hope he sees more field-goal chances.
Brandon McManus – Green Bay Packers (11% rostered)
Same game, opposite side of the ball. McManus has been perfect since he returned from his one-week quadriceps injury. Jordan Love’s passing game has looked much better with Christian Watson back in the lineup. High-passing volume is usually the best way to predict a potentially good fantasy performance from a kicker, and the ball should see a lot of air yards in this game. If you need a kicker this week, Brandon McManus should be a fine streamer.
Defense & Special Teams
Cleveland Browns (60% rostered)
Fantasy managers had good reason to drop the Browns last week. They ended up struggling against Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers. But now that they’re available in 40% of leagues, this is the time to pick them up. They face a Titans O-line that’s allowed over four sacks per game this season, and Cam Ward could be in for a nightmare matchup with Myles Garrett hunting him down.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (30% rostered)
The Bucs may have the best remaining DST schedule. This week, they face the Saints’ rookie QB Tyler Shough, who’s improving but still prone to rookie mistakes. Last week, Tampa Bay’s DST had a solid performance even against the gunslinging version of Jacoby Brissett. The Bucs should offer a very solid floor this week.
Tennessee Titans (2% rostered)
This might sound crazy, but if you’re desperate, the Titans might actually be a good streaming option this week against the Browns. Shedeur Sanders has already been confirmed as this week’s starting QB, and Cleveland’s passing volume has been pretty low with him under center. The over/under line for this game is 33.5 points. It seems there won’t be much action in this matchup, which makes both defenses streamable.
BONUS: Tight End
Darren Waller – Miami Dolphins (37% rostered)
“The Walrus” is back! After missing five games with a pectoral injury, Waller returned and led all Dolphins receivers with 47 yards in a low-volume passing game against the Saints. This week’s matchup against the Jets should be far more pass-heavy. Tua Tagovailoa has consistently performed well against the Jets, whose defense has taken a big hit since Sauce Gardner’s departure. With Tyrod Taylor keeping New York’s offense alive, this game could stay competitive, and Miami will need Waller. Expect heavy usage.
