Fantasy Football: Week 14 Streamers to Consider
The second bye-pocalypse of the season is upon us, and it’s even wilder than the first one. This week, the Ravens, Broncos, Texans, Colts, Patriots, and Commanders are on bye. This will leave a significant number of holes on many fantasy rosters, so making the necessary adjustments will be key if we want to finish this week with a win.
This article will try to help you get as many points as possible from your onesie positions through the art of streaming. Like every week, we’ll cover some quarterbacks, kickers, defense/special teams, and at least one tight end to stream this week based on their matchups and other factors.
If you need further help finding options for your roster in this complicated week, you can always check Andy, Mike, and Jason’s weekly rankings or log into the Ultimate Dashboard to get specific suggestions based on your team.
Quarterbacks
Russell Wilson – Pittsburgh Steelers (41% rostered)
Showing up here for the second straight week, Mr. Unlimited is somehow even less rostered than he was seven days ago, despite the very juicy matchup he had against the Bengals, in which he delivered the goods, completing 38 passes for 414 yards and three touchdowns. This week, he’ll play against the Cleveland Browns. He played against them a couple of weeks ago and did a decent job as a passer, even though that game was a snow fest. This time, he will be playing at home and under much better weather conditions. If he keeps playing at this level and connecting with his receivers on big plays, he should once again be an excellent streamer.
Will Levis – Tennessee Titans (17% rostered)
Desperate measures sometimes have to be taken in weeks like this one. If you’re desperate for a QB to start this week, Will Levis might be able to provide some acceptable fantasy numbers. He is still far from being a great quarterback, but he has definitely been improving from what we saw from him at the start of the season. Since DeAndre Hopkins left the Titans, Levis has been developing an interesting connection with his WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, who has been catching touchdown passes at an abnormal pace. This week, the Titans have the best possible matchup for QBs against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have allowed the most passing touchdowns and the second-most passing yards per game to the position.
Aidan O’Connell (6% rostered)
In his first game of the season as a starter, Aidan O’Connell did a very good job against the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 23 of 35 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. He looked very comfortable throwing the ball to Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. This week, he should be even more comfortable against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. O’Connell should be a fine streamer for teams needing a QB for this bye-pocalypse week.
Kickers
John Parker Romo – Minnesota Vikings (9% rostered)
Since the Vikings placed Will Reichard on injury reserve, backup kicker John Parker Romo has been performing well. He has not been perfect, but despite his couple of mistakes over four weeks, the Vikings are constantly providing him with enough opportunities to be fantasy-relevant almost every week. This Sunday, he should be a fine streamer against the Atlanta Falcons in a game with a 45.5 over/under where the Vikings are favorites.
Brandon McManus – Green Bay Packers (11% rostered)
I don’t understand how the veteran Packers’ kicker is still so widely available. He hasn’t missed a kick attempt all season and he plays for a team that is constantly involved in high-scoring games. He was once again flawless last week, nailing three field goals and three extra points. And this week, he should once again get a ton of opportunities against the Lions in what Vegas projects to be this week’s highest-scoring affair.
Jake Moody – San Francisco 49ers (48% rostered)
It will take some courage to start Jake Moody after he missed two field goals last week against the Bills but both were long attempts in very bad, snowy weather. We should give Jake Moody a break this time and trust his talent and the team he plays for. The 49ers should have a much easier matchup this week at home against the Chicago Bears, who have been improving enough offensively to keep the score alive. This is always good news for kickers. According to Vegas, San Francisco is expected to score around 25 points in this game, so Moody should have enough opportunities to provide fantasy value as a streamer.
Defense & Special Teams
New Orleans Saints (14% rostered)
The Saints’ defense is not the same since they lost Marshon Lattimore. But they shouldn’t miss him too much this week when they play against the New York Giants, who are still undecided on who will be their starting quarterback. Tommy DeVito didn’t play last week due to a forearm injury, and Drew Lock wasn’t terrible but he still threw a horrible pick-six. It doesn’t matter who ends up as the starter; these Giants are nothing to be afraid of.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2% rostered)
The Jaguars have been pretty bad this season, but their D/ST has shown up for fantasy in favorable matchups. This week, they have the single best possible matchup for the position: the Tennessee Titans, who have allowed almost four sacks per game and the most fantasy points on average to opposing D/ST.
Tennessee Titans (6% rostered)
On the other side of the ball in the same game, the Tennessee Titans should also be a decent streamer this week. This game has the week’s second-lowest over/under line, so there shouldn’t be a lot of damage done on either side of the field, making both teams viable streaming options.
BONUS: Tight End
Grant Calcaterra – Philadelphia Eagles (0% rostered)
It’s still too soon to know, but Dallas Goedert might end up being out this week after leaving Sunday’s game with a knee injury. If he isn’t able to play, Grant Calcaterra could turn into one of the week’s best streamers since the Eagles have a great matchup for tight ends this week against the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed the most fantasy points per game to the position. Calcaterra saw a very decent target volume during Goedert’s previous injury and recorded some relevant fantasy finishes during that span. He is available in absolutely every league, so pick him up if Goedert is forced to miss this game.
Luke Schoonmaker – Dallas Cowboys (18% rostered)
Another early speculative streamer. It all depends on the health of Jake Ferguson, who still has a full week to pass concussion protocol. But if he is out once again, Luke Schoonmaker should continue handling tight end duties in an excellent matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have been very bad against the position, allowing 12.9 fantasy points on average.
