We are heading into Week 15, the first week of the fantasy playoffs! If your league still allows trades, you can still make moves whether you missed the playoffs or are chasing that championship. Don’t be stagnant! There will be plenty of win-win trades between contenders and rebuilding teams that help both accomplish their goals. As a rebuilding team, now is the best time to sell off veteran players whose values are plummeting due to age. Let’s take a look at some players for contenders and rebuilders to target in trades this week.

Contenders: Players to Trade For

Stefon Diggs

Stefon Diggs is currently the WR8 this season and is a great buy candidate for contenders. Diggs has a tougher matchup this week against the Cowboys but then gets favorable matchups in Weeks 16 and 17 against the Chargers and Patriots. Now that Diggs has reached 30, his dynasty value has fallen, as he is the current WR23 on KeepTradeCut. Diggs likely has another two to three seasons of production ahead, but we don’t know if he will remain in Buffalo. With the age and uncertainty, you could get Diggs at a good price to help you compete for that championship!

Alvin Kamara

Veteran running backs are typically good targets for contenders. Alvin Kamara is still playing at a high level and is currently the RB8 this season. He gets the Giants up next and should have a huge game for Week 1 of the playoffs. He then goes against the Rams and Buccaneers, but due to his pass-catching, he still has upside against tough run defenses. Kamara is no longer valued as a high-end dynasty running back, although he has still been playing like one. Due to his age, though, he should be affordable in your leagues if he is on a team that did not make the playoffs.

Joe Flacco

In the year 2023, I am recommending Joe Flacco as a buy option for contenders. It feels ridiculous, but he has back-to-back plus matchups against the Bears and the Texans and has played well in his previous two games, scoring at least 20 fantasy points in both. Flacco is on this list because of how many injuries have happened at the quarterback position and how cheaply you can get Flacco if you need help. You are only renting Flacco for this playoff run, so don’t give up too much, but if you are desperate for a quarterback, specifically in SuperFlex leagues, then you can probably test the waters with a late third-round or fourth-round 2024 rookie pick for Flacco.

Rebuilding: Players to Trade For

Justin Herbert

Another elite quarterback suffered a season-ending injury, meaning we have another opportunity to get an elite dynasty asset at a discount. If a contender in your league has Justin Herbert and needs quarterback help, try to take advantage of that situation. Several quarterbacks are listed behind him in current market value that you could do a one-for-one swap for or even try to get a 2024 second or third-round rookie pick on top of Herbert. Trevor Lawrence, Tua Tagovailoa, Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, or even Jordan Love would be quarterbacks you could attempt to trade away (if you thought Herbert was more valuable). While the Chargers have undoubtedly struggled, Herbert should remain a coveted dynasty asset.

Kyle Pitts

I didn’t want to add Kyle Pitts into the buy-low options for rebuilders in dynasty leagues because he has frequently burned fantasy managers across all formats. Still, with his current market value of TE7 on KeepTradeCut, he is worth a flyer now that he is considerably cheaper than in prior years. Despite his horrible situation and lack of production (which could be a direct result of his situation plus the injuries he has dealt with), I am trying to buy where I can at low prices. Pitts is currently the TE14, which is bad for tight ends, but he is tied as the sixth most targeted tight end this season (74). He is ninth in receiving yards with 549. He had a record-breaking rookie season and then suffered injuries while playing with a bad head coach and a bad quarterback play. Maybe I cannot let go, but I believe he increases in value because he is only 23 years old with a bright future ahead if he can get into a better situation.

Bryce Young

This suggestion is another ugly one, but I mainly wanted to suggest buying low on Bryce Young if you are in a SuperFlex league. He is currently valued as the QB17 on KeepTradeCut, which is valid because of his struggles and his poor situation. I do not think Bryce Young is a bad quarterback, and I do believe he could have a Tua-esque career if the right coaching staff and weapons show up in Carolina. It is common for rookie quarterbacks to struggle and become good in the long run. I am willing to be patient with Bryce because he is worth a flyer on a rebuilding SuperFlex dynasty team at this cost.
