Hungry for More: The Fantasy Footballers’ Predictions for Week 7
The fantasy football season is a marathon, but this race is nearly half way over already and there are plenty of fantasy rosters that need a boost to help make the playoff push! Never fear though, Andy, Mike and Jason are back with a trio of players they see a brighter future for in this week’s Hungry for More presented by Uber Eats!
Each week the Ballers are packing up three players they see poised to take a step forward for fantasy managers and help get that tasty W in Week 7!
WR – Christian Watson (GB)
| Week 6 | ||
| Receptions | Receiving Yards | TDs |
| 3 | 68 | 1 |
It’s been a slow start to the season for Christian Watson, but he’s caught Andy’s eye after a strong return from injury in Week 6. Watson is a part of one of the best offenses in the league in Green Bay and showed last week that his ability to stretch defenses brings a big play element that the Packers need in the passing game. It’s easy to forget that Watson practically broke fantasy football as a rookie, catching seven TDs in a four-game stretch. While it’s unlikely that Watson can repeat that type of production with all of the receiving options in Green Bay, he still provides plenty of upside for fantasy managers to feast on from week to week.
With Watson back healthy (for now), there could be a great opportunity over the next several weeks for him to be plugged in as a flex option for fantasy managers. The Packers’ next three games come against teams allowing at least 2.4 points above expectation to opposing WRs, and two of the three have allowed 34+ points to opposing teams’ WRs. If Watson can stay healthy, he could be a week-winning type of player for fantasy managers with his ability to make big plays in the passing game.
Upcoming Schedule: vs. Houston, at Jacksonville, vs. Detroit, bye
RB – Raheem Mostert (MIA)
| Week 5 | ||
| Carries | Rushing Yards | TDs |
| 19 | 80 | 0 |
The Dolphins’ offense has been a disappointment for fantasy managers this season, but Jason believes in Raheem Mostert’s ability to get back to being a great option in lineups over the back stretch of the season. Mostert returned to the lineup for Miami in Week 5 after missing several weeks with a chest injury, but in his return, he saw 21 opportunities and finished as the RB22 on the week. As dysfunctional as the Dolphins’ offense has been over the last month without Tua Tagovailoa playing, the bread and butter of this offense has always been leaning on the running game and Mostert is one of their preferred options on the ground and should be even more of an emphasis until Tua’s return.
Looking forward for the Dolphins, the schedule sets up really well for Mostert to be a strong option for fantasy managers over the next two months. Miami’s next seven opponents all rank 18th or worse against opposing fantasy RBs, including a stretch from Weeks 9-12 that features four of the bottom seven teams in the league against RBs. With any hope, Tua returns to the Dolphins and the offense can get back to what fantasy managers expected to start the season. Worst case scenario, Miami continues to lean on their RBs for offensive production and Mostert turns into a cherry on top of the fantasy roster for the back stretch of the season.
Upcoming Schedule: at Indianapolis, vs. Arizona, at Buffalo, at L.A. Rams
QB – Drake Maye (NE)
| Week 6 | ||
| Passing Attempts | Passing Yards | TDs |
| 20/33 | 243 | 3 |
After being forced to sit and watch for five weeks, Drake Maye finally got a chance to show the fantasy community why he was drafted with the third overall pick in the 2024 draft, tossing three TDs, finishing as the QB11 on the week and making Mike want another helping on his plate. Maye’s debut has to bring some hope for the fantasy options in New England as a whole. The rookie’s first career TD pass was the longest completion for a Patriots QB over the last three seasons, so Maye should elevate the fantasy pieces around him as well as provide fantasy managers with a potential streaming option at QB.
There’s no time like the present for Maye to make a fantasy impact this week against the Jaguars. Jacksonville’s defense is the best matchup in the league for fantasy QBs, allowing 8.6 points above expectation to opposing QBs. The Jaguars have allowed at least 26 fantasy points to opposing QBs in each of their last four games, translating to fantasy finishes of QB2, QB5, QB4, and QB2. If Maye continues to get the green light to open up the passing game this week, he could be in for a big fantasy day off the waiver wire.
Upcoming Schedule: at Jacksonville (London), vs. N.Y. Jets, at Tennessee, at Chicago
