Smyth served as the Saints' kicker for the final six games of the 2025 regular season, but he has failed to make the team heading into the 2026 campaign. Even with Smyth out of the mix, the Saints still have two options left at kicker in Daniel Carlson and Tanner Brown. Per Triplett's colleague Nick Underhill, the Saints intend to keep Smyth on the practice squad if another team doesn't sign him.
