Week 2 Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football)
Let’s take a breath and try to recover after the madness that was the 2019 Week 1 in the NFL. We know that the first week can be a little crazy and should not be projected over the entirety of 16 weeks. To put things into perspective and maybe take a few steps away from the tilt cliff, check out Ten Things We Learned in Week 1 to find some fantasy gems and silver linings from the roller coaster week.
Now that we have yo-yo’d through our fantasy emotions, it’s time to look ahead to Week 2 and beyond. Below is a list of the top Waiver Adds for Week 2 from The Fantasy Footballers.

Wide Receivers
Marquise Brown didn’t just make a statement in his first-ever NFL game, he sprinted to the top of Mount Everest at record speed and hollered from the peak for all the world to hear. Be warned, Brown will be the top targeted WR on the waiver wire this week. Remember, he had 4 receptions, 147 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 snaps. TWELVE snaps.
Jamison Crowder is already owned in nearly half of the league, but if he’s available in a PPR league, he is a must-add to your squad. In Seattle, it looks like the hype surrounding D.K. Metcalf was legitimate and not just Pete Carroll’s coach speak. Do yourself a favor and check out a few of his highlights to see some extra specials catches from Week 1.
Sammy Watkins feasted with 3 touchdowns and Tyreek Hill is suffering from a serious collar bone issue. Before we start crowning Watkins as the next Hill, we need to remember his sustainability. He has never played a full season since his rookie year in 2014. It’s worth picking up Mecole Hardman who should see an increase in snaps and targets.
The Redskins offense may have been a surprise in Week 1, and Terry McLaurin showed he’s big part of that offense. The key here is his catch percentage of 71.4% and his snap share at 93%. He is on the field for nearly every snap and was hyper-efficient when targeted.

Running Backs
The questions surrounding Todd Gurley continue but one thing has made itself slightly clearer after Week 1. The Rams will most likely use Malcolm Brown instead of Darrell Henderson in tandem with Gurley, particularly at the goal line considering Brown scored 2 touchdowns.
Washington and San Francisco have been RB enigmas, and with Adrian Peterson a healthy scratch in Sunday’s game, it seemed this dilemma wouldn’t clear up anytime soon. Unfortunately, Derrius Guice is undergoing an MRI and is due to miss time in the Redskins offense after his lackluster performance against the Eagles. This should be promising for Adrian Peterson and particularly Chris Thompson who is only 13% owned in Yahoo! leagues and will be involved in both the run and passing game.

Tight Ends
Darren Waller is one of two big beneficiaries of Antonio Brown‘s departure and he capitalized on his absence in Oakland’s home opener Monday night. He had his second-highest total targets and third highest in total yards in a single game. Waller should continue to see volume as his workload increases throughout the year.

QB Streamers
If you decided to stream QBs, we learned a lesson from Week 1. Don’t be afraid to stream a QB against Kansas City. I will throw starting QBs versus Miami into that mix, and grab Tom Brady if he’s available on the waiver wire.
Derek Carr (29% owned) vs KC
Josh Allen (32% owned) @NYG
Andy Dalton (10% owned) vs SF
*Bonus: Look for Ben Roethlisberger to be dropped in many leagues.
