Biggest Studs
Tyreek Hill
Week 12 @ TB: 13 receptions on 15 targets for 269 yards & 3 TD
Upcoming Schedule: DEN — Fantasy Playoffs: @MIA, @NO, ATL
Over the weekend, Tyreek managed to put up 203 receiving yards in one quarter. ONE QUARTER! THAT’S INSANE. Tyreek has been a monster this entire season, averaging 20.6 fantasy points per game (2nd). That’s 3 points per game more than he produced in 2018, when he finished the season as the WR1 overall. Tyreek only has one game with fewer than 13 fantasy points on the season. Hill is locked and loaded as an elite and reliable fantasy option every week. Only Davante Adams is more valuable in fantasy (although an argument could be made for either).
Antonio Gibson
Week 12 @ DAL: 20 rushes for 115 yards & 3 TD | 5 receptions on 7 targets for 21 yards
Upcoming Schedule: @PIT — Fantasy Playoffs: @SF, SEA, CAR
The hype train for Antonio Gibson was overwhelming this past offseason. Not even the biggest Gibson truthers would have projected him to blow up the way he has this year, especially in recent games. Antonio Gibson is ranked #2 in RB points scored over the past five weeks. His production over that time? 18.8 pts, 11 pts, 20.5 pts, 16.9 pts, and 34.1 pts (Week 12). Gibson is a fantasy darling, averaging the 9th most fantasy points per game among RB this season. Gibson is a must-start, which is a terrifying thing to say for a player on the Washington Football Team – but yes, he is in Terry McLaurin territory – plug and play every week.
Deebo Samuel
Week 12 @ LAR: 11 receptions on 13 targets for 133 yards
Upcoming Schedule: BUF — Fantasy Playoffs: WSH, @DAL, @ARI
Deebo went off this week and racked up 133 yards after returning from injury. When active, Deebo is a beast. He’s elite in terms of yards after the catch, and he’s a perfect fit for the 49ers offense. Deebo has the 11th most yards after the catch (YAC) so far this season. Deebo has only played in five games. FIVE GAMES! He averages 70 YAC per game, which ranks first among all players. By comparison, Adam Thielen averages 65 TOTAL yards per game. Deebo is a strong WR2 when healthy.
Biggest Stinkers
Derek Carr
Week 12 @ ATL: 22 completions on 34 passes for 215 yards & 1 INT | 3 Fumbles
Upcoming Schedule: @NYJ, CIN — Fantasy Playoffs: KC, NE, @LV
Derek Carr had been quietly putting up respectable fantasy QB numbers before this past week. Carr was in the streaming discussion for many weeks, and he’s been a very attractive QB2 in superflex leagues. Fast forward to Week 12, playing against the porous Atlanta Falcons defense. Atlanta has allowed for a top-7 opposing fantasy QB in seven of 10 weeks. Atlanta is the matchup that fantasy GM’s dream about, and the stars were aligned for Carr to have a monster game. However, Carr was terrible this week. Like, really bad. Carr has removed himself from the streaming category right now. You simply can’t trust him after a performance like that against a beatable Falcons defense.
Alvin Kamara: 11 rushes for 54 yards | 1 reception on 2 targets for -2 yards
Michael Thomas: 4 receptions on 6 targets for 50 yards | 1 rush for 1 yard
Week 12 @ DEN
Upcoming Schedule: @ATL — Fantasy Playoffs: @PHI, KC, MIN
Kamara has been virtually removed from the passing game since Hill took over in Brees’ absence. Taysom Hill and Latavius Murray have dominated the red zone work over the past two weeks. Those who roster Kamara (including myself) have been frustrated over the past couple of weeks. The Ballers talked about Drew Brees returning Week 15 at the earliest! I’m with Andy that I don’t want to sell low on Kamara. It’s possible that he rebounds in the coming weeks, and we should expect elite production again upon Brees’ return. Meanwhile, Michael Thomas has been THE MOST DISAPPOINTING fantasy player in all of 2020. If you drafted him in the first round, you’ve been incredibly disappointed. And he’s taken up space on your bench! Thomas is in a similar situation to Kamara…Don’t expect elite production, but you certainly don’t want to trade him for pennies on the dollar.
