The first round of the fantasy playoffs provided plenty of points and drama, and a lot of mid-round picks came through in Week 15 after inconsistent seasons. Jordan Addison, Jaylen Waddle, Terry McLaurin, and more propelled a lot of teams into the semifinals. Week 15 also came with its fair share of injuries and surprises, opening up some opportunities for players in Week 16 to earn targets and turn the tide of your matchup.

This weekly series gives actionable insights for the week ahead based on Targets Per Route Run (TPRR). TPRR is calculated by dividing a player’s targets by their routes run and expressing it as a percentage. We use this statistic to evaluate a player’s efficiency and production related to their opportunities. To learn more about TPRR and why it’s a useful tool, check out the 2023 season preview.

Week 15 Recap

Here’s a look at Week 15’s top 20 in Targets Per Route Run (minimum 15 routes run):

Takeaways

  • Jayden Reed exited with a toe injury in a Week 15 loss to Tampa Bay, but he made the most of his time on the field. Reed was on the field for only 42% of Green Bay’s offensive snaps, but he earned eight targets on only 17 routes. Reed’s practice reports will be crucial to watch, but he presents a startable option with plenty of upside if he plays.
  • Noah Brown (32% TPRR) finally took advantage of the available targets in Houston. Or maybe he just needed Case Keenum instead of CJ Stroud. Insert shrug emoji. Brown has plenty of upside, but the Texans will struggle to move the ball in Week 16 if Stroud can’t clear the league’s concussion protocol. If Nico Collins is cleared to play, Noah Brown‘s path gets even tougher.
  • Zay Jones and Calvin Ridley‘s TPRR numbers look good at first glance, but neither did much with the opportunities in Week 15. Trevor Lawrence is in danger of missing Week 16, which puts a damper on a game with massive playoff implications. Jones is dealing with an injury of his own, further muddying the waters in Jacksonville. If everyone plays, it’s a game that should provide plenty of offense.
  • We saw the signs last week, so I hope you believed the stats and put Chris Godwin (37% TPRR) into your starting lineup. He saw 11 targets for the second week in a row, and the Bucs should continue to roll against a ho-hum Jacksonville defense in Week 16. Fire up Evans and Godwin against the Jaguars, who rank 23rd against fantasy wide receivers this season.
  • Michael Pittman was eating up targets before taking the hit that lit the internet on fire. Josh Downs has faded in recent weeks and didn’t take advantage of the opportunity. Enter D.J. Montgomery, who didn’t have a target coming into Week 15. Montgomery was the direct fill-in for Pitty City, and he would be worth a dart throw or DFS play should Pittman miss Week 16.  For what it’s worth, Montgomery is an actual city, so…
