Hungry for More: The Fantasy Footballers’ Predictions for Week 12
We’re officially on the home stretch to the fantasy playoffs, and having a player who can take a step forward and get your fantasy team the rest of the way to the title is what every manager is searching for! Luckily, the Ballers are doing the hard work for you and looking at players they think can be those difference makers in Week 12 in this week’s Hungry for More presented by Uber Eats!
Each week the Ballers will pick a player who super-sized their game in the past week and decide if they’ll continue to eat at the big guy’s table or go back to the kid’s table. Of course, I’ll give you an extra side dish or two to go along with Andy, Mike, and Jason’s main course! Let me know if you think we’re cooking up a high-end meal or if it’s more like gas station sushi!
Tank Dell, Houston Texans – WR
| Week 11 | ||
| Receptions | Receiving Yards | TDs |
| 8 | 149 | 1 |
It’s been three straight weeks of WR1 finishes for Tank Dell and Andy is asking for more! Dell has been absolutely on fire since Week 9 with 35 receptions, 319 yards, and four TDs in that stretch. Andy is wanting to see Dell take a step forward and be the weekly target leader for the Texans and leave no doubt who the top target for the Texans will be down the fantasy playoffs stretch. With Nico Collins and Noah Brown eventually returning to the lineup, the biggest question is whether or not Dell can continue to show he’s the alpha in this passing game or if the targets will be spread around to the multiple options in Houston.
Dell should get another great opportunity to assert himself this week against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed four top-24 finishes in their last three games. The Texans are in the playoff hunt and will have to continue relying on their offense’s hot play to get them there. Dell should have every chance to show that he’s the main receiving option from this week going forward.
Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams – RB
| Weeks 1-6 | ||
| Carries | Rushing Yards | TDs |
| 97 | 456 | 6 |
It’s probably easy to forget how great Kyren Williams was to start the season, but he was the RB4 before he went down and Jason is looking for him to deliver some tasty fantasy success upon his return. Williams has been designated to return from IR and the Rams released Darrell Henderson on Wednesday, clearing the way. Williams never finished outside of the top-30 RBs on any week that he played and was a top-10 back four different times, so the ceiling should be there for fantasy managers to have him in their lineups.
For Williams to get back into producing for fantasy managers, he’s got a great matchup heading into Week 12 against the Cardinals. Arizona has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards in the league and the third-most rushing TDs. For a Rams offense that has struggled to find its way in the last few games, getting Williams back into the mix should be a steadying force for the offense as a whole.
Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys – RB
| Week 11 | ||
| Carries | Rushing Yards | TDs |
| 12 | 61 | 1 |
It hasn’t been the fantasy season many imagined for Tony Pollard heading into the year. Fantasy managers were excited to see Pollard have the Cowboys’ backfield to himself with Ezekiel Elliott gone, but Pollard has been a top-24 RB in just one of his last four games this season. Mike is hoping to see Pollard build on his success from last week’s RB12 finish where he saw five targets in the passing game, the most he’d seen since Week 6.
A Thanksgiving feast may be in store for Pollard with a tasty matchup against the Commanders ahead in Week 12. The Cowboys are favored by 12.5 points against Washington, a defense that has allowed at least 29 points in three of their last four games. If Dallas gets out to an early lead, fantasy managers should expect Pollard to get a healthy portion of work again this week.
Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens – WR
| Week 11 | ||
| Receptions | Receiving Yards | TDs |
| 3 | 43 | 0 |
While the injury to Mark Andrews is tough to deal with, Zay Flowers could be the beneficiary in the Baltimore offense. When Andrews missed the Ravens season-opener, Flowers had his biggest receiving output of the season with 78 yards on nine receptions. Even though Flowers has struggled with consistency for fantasy managers this season, he’s been on the field plenty, including playing 98% of snaps last week against Cincinnati when Andrews went down due to injury.
If increased opportunity wasn’t enough, a matchup against a Chargers defense that’s allowing the second-most fantasy points to the WR position and the most passing yards in the league could be a buffet for a player like Flowers. Over the last three weeks, the Chargers have allowed four top-24 WR finishes, including two last week to the Packers. I’d expect heavy involvement from Flowers in this matchup which could be the turning point for him to be a big player down the stretch in the fantasy season.
