Fantasy Football: Week 6 Streamers to Consider
The 2024 NFL season is finally taking off. This past week, we had some exciting high-scoring games that turned into a fantasy points bonanza across all positions. This is what we were waiting for. And it came at the perfect moment, just when the bye weeks arrived.
This week, the Chiefs, Dolphins, Rams, and Vikings are on bye. This might not seem like much at first glance, but I bet some of you were riding the wave with Sam Darnold or the Vikings’ D/ST. If that is the case, fear not! The idea behind this weekly article is to find some interesting quarterbacks, kickers, defense/special teams, and even an occasional tight end that should be serviceable streamers this week to help your team get the most points out of these positions and improve your chances to finish the week with a W.
Of course, if you need further help deciding which player to stream, you can always find it in Andy, Mike, and Jason’s weekly rankings. And don’t forget to try out the Ultimate Dashboard, where you can sync your roster and get specific spot-start suggestions.
Let’s dive into the streaming pool!
Quarterbacks
Caleb Williams – Chicago Bears (59% rostered)
This new version of the Chicago Bears still has a long way to go if they want to be what the fans expect. But Caleb Williams has been looking better over the past few weeks. He just completed 20 out of 29 passes for over 300 yards and two touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers. He also showed a bit of his running capabilities, rushing five times for 34 yards. This week, he has a perfect matchup to continue gaining confidence. He’ll play against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have allowed the second-most passing yards and the most fantasy points on average to QBs this season.
Kirk Cousins – Atlanta Falcons (41% rostered)
Captain Kirk didn’t seem as ready for the season as fantasy managers wanted him to be after tearing his Achilles last year. After four disappointing weeks, he got dropped in the majority of leagues. But last week, he finally looked like his former self on Thursday night, throwing for 509 yards and four touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This week, he has a juicy matchup against the Carolina Panthers, who have allowed 18.2 points on average to opposing QBs. But beware, after that monster performance, you might need to pay up some FAAB dollars to get Kirk Cousins.
Derek Carr – New Orleans Saints (37% rostered)
Carr started the season on fire and then came back to earth in Week 3. Yesterday, he suffered an oblique injury during the Monday Night Football game and we are still waiting for his MRI results to know if he’ll play this week. If he does, we know what he’s capable of doing in favorable matchups, and this week he’ll have one of the best possible ones against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whose defense has struggled for a long time now against the pass. Even though they have only allowed one passing touchdown this season, they’ve still permitted opposing QBs to score 18.6 fantasy points on average. I think the Saints have enough explosive receivers to make Carr a solid streamer if he is available.
Daniel Jones – New York Giants (16% rostered)
The New York Giants had a surprisingly good game against a tough Seahawks defense. Danny Dimes played an important part in this win, completing 23 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns. This week, he’ll have a chance to continue this positive streak against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have been recently involved in high-scoring shootouts. Malik Nabers should be back from injury, so Daniel Jones should have his full arsenal at his disposal.
Will Levis – Tennessee Titans (14% rostered)
This one is for the bold and the desperate. Will Levis left the field in Week 4 with an AC joint sprain. He is supposed to be ready for this week’s game against the Colts, and that should be great news for the streaming crowd since Indianapolis has been awful on defense, so far allowing the third-most fantasy points on average to QBs.
Kickers
Austin Seibert – Washington Commanders (21% rostered)
As long as he stays this available, the Washington Commanders kicker will keep popping up in this weekly article. Austin Seibert has been great this season, ticking all the boxes for a perfect fantasy kicker. He has nailed all his field goals and extra points so far, and he plays for a team that has been scoring points on almost every drive. Right now he is the K2 in points per game, so he definitely shouldn’t be so available. This week, he’ll get plenty of opportunities once again in what projects to be a shootout against the Ravens. Get Seibert while you can.
Brayden Narveson – Green Bay Packers (32% rostered)
The Green Bay Packers kicker has struggled with some misses over the first four weeks of the season. But this offense has been so electric that they constantly provide him with new kicking opportunities to redeem himself. Last week, he finally had a perfect game, nailing all four of his attempts and now he’ll have a chance to continue producing against the Cardinals in what projects to be the second-highest scoring game of the week.
Jake Bates – Detroit Lions (4% rostered)
This rookie kicker’s case has been a very curious one. He has been almost perfect, nailing all but one kick over his first four weeks as an NFL pro. So what’s the problem? The offense has been so good that all their points have come in the form of touchdowns during their last two games, limiting his production to extra points. This shouldn’t be the norm. He should once again get the opportunity to kick some field goals this week against the Cowboys in an exciting matchup in which the Lions are projected to score around 27.5 points according to Vegas.
Defense & Special Teams
Los Angeles Chargers (8% rostered)
A defense coming off their bye week is always rested and widely available. The Chargers have had some decent defensive performances this season, racking up 11 sacks and four interceptions. Now they’ll play against the almost harmless Denver Broncos in a game with a very low expected point total.
Houston Texans (23% rostered)
The Texans D/ST has not been anything special this season, except against really low-scoring offenses. This week, they’ll visit the New England Patriots, who have scored the sad amount of 62 points this season. Only the Dolphins have fewer points. This game should be an easy win for Houston, so feel free to stream their D/ST.
Indianapolis Colts (9% rostered)
The Tennessee Titans continue to be a team to target when streaming D/ST. No team has allowed more fantasy points than them to the position. The Indianapolis Colts might struggle offensively once again if Anthony Richardson returns from injury. But this might actually be good news for their D/ST, which might benefit from a low-scoring affair against a mistake-prone team.
BONUS: Tight End
Tyler Conklin – New York Jets (30% rostered)
The tight end position is an absolute wasteland this season. Apart from a few options, the production has been very volatile and unpredictable, relying mainly on touchdowns. It might be time to stop being stubborn about those appealing TEs we drafted and start considering the ones with healthier volume, like Tyler Conklin. He’s had 23 targets over the last three weeks and he is still widely available in 70% of leagues. In this TE economy, he might even be entering the every-week starter conversation. But focusing on this week, he has a solid matchup against the Bills, who recently allowed the Ravens’ tight ends to come back to life.
