Yours truly is stepping in for Matt Hakim this week to offer my Tournament Takes for Week 7 DFS on DraftKings.

I’m going to mix things up a bit from the normal flow. I’ll discuss our roster percentage report and where I differ from it, discuss ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.

I don’t want to simply repeat what I’ve done throughout the week so here are those articles if you need a chance to catch up:

As always, the best place to receive immediate feedback and discussion is in our #dfs Discord channels for JointheFoot.com members.

Roster Percentage Thoughts

My goal is to walk position-by-position through our Roster Percentage Report and talk through the most popular players. Our DFS Optimizer is a great place to compare projections, roster percentage, and overall game environments for GPPs. These percentages are based estimates using historical averages in large field tournaments.

Quarterbacks

  • Daniels is the main high-priced QB garnering any type of roster percentage this week. I don’t exactly trust the Hurts projection (9.3%) as I’ve compared across the industry. I think he comes in more like 5ish % making Hurts skinny stacks viable.
  • Knowing that Geno and Cousins are in the same game, it makes sense that their pass-catchers are also garnering a ton of attention. The Seattle WRs are much more spread out so don’t be afraid of Geno’s roster percentage. A Geno double stack (DK, JSN, or Lockett) needs only 60+ points to pay off in large fields. Keep in mind how popular ATL WRs are this week with Cousins.
  • A Daniel Jones stack with Malik Nabers feels dirty. He has averaged 40 rushing yards per game versus the Eagles in his career.
  • Sam Darnold feels like the most boom/bust option at QB this week. Getting Aaron Jones back is a boon to his projection knowing how involved Jones is in the passing game. Opponents of Detroit are throwing 68% of the time, 2nd most in the NFL. The Lions are running man coverage 38.5% of the time (the 4th highest rate in the NFL) and we’ve seen him create massive down the field plays when left alone with a CB.
