NFL DFS First Look at DraftKings Salaries for Week 7 (Fantasy Football)
Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.
Check back later in the week when Matthew Betz and I share our official DraftKings and FanDuel picks for cash and GPPs exclusively in the DFS Pass.
Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.
Overview
For newcomers, the main slate for DFS includes the Sunday early (1:00 EST) and afternoon games (4:25 EST). At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:
- Off the Main Slate: DEN, NO, NE, JAX, NYJ, PIT, BAL, TB, LAC, ARI
- Bye Week Teams: DAL, CHI
- This week’s main slate is the smallest of the year with only TEN total games. When you add in a London game and 2(!) Monday night games, this a condensed pool of players to work from this week.
- Despite the size, the slate offers a number of intriguing stacking options with five games currently sitting at 47 or above. This is a perfect week to view the roster percentages on Friday/Saturday and attack one or two of the games that might be beneath the radar. Finding simple correlation plays (RB + opposing WR) from lower tier games is an easy way to stay away from chalkier constructions or games that might be a bit too popular.
Quarterbacks
- This is the moment (and week) you realize that Jayden Daniels ($7600) is the most expensive QB on the slate. It’s hard arguing with a floor this high as he’s registered 20+ DK points in 5 of his 6 starts so far. The Panthers rank 28th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to the QB position and Washington (shockingly) has the highest team implied total of the week.
- Jordan Love ($6900) has ten passing TDs in his last three starts as the Green Bay passing attack continues to hum. They rank 8th in EPA per pass attempt and now he faces a Texans pass defense that has struggled on the road. Anthony Richardson (QB4 in Week 1), Sam Darnold (QB9 in Week 3), and Drake Maye (QB11 in Week 6) all tore up the Texans through the air.
