Rookie Standouts
Jonah Coleman’s Week 8 performance against the Kansas City Chiefs put him on league-winning watch for the 2026 fantasy football season. Coleman saw 16 opportunities, turning them into 104 scrimmage yards and a TD. While Coleman had a solid game all-around, his production on the Denver Broncos’ final drive is what made his fantasy day. A 51-yard reception and his go-ahead five-yard TD run accounted for 66% of his Week 8 fantasy production.
The Denver Broncos‘ three-headed backfield of Coleman, J.K. Dobbins, and RJ Harvey was difficult to navigate during redraft season. However, as the Ballers always say, there is value to be had in ambiguous backfields. Dobbins’ season-long inefficiencies and Harvey’s recent knee injury, which moved him to injured reserve, created an opportunity for Coleman, which is all we can ask for as dynasty managers. The Broncos have the second-easiest schedule-adjusted strength of schedule, which could propel Coleman into a different class of dynasty RBs by the end of the season.

The hopes and dreams of Ashton Jeanty being the bell-cow back in Las Vegas may be over as we know it, and the Mike Washington Jr. era may have begun. Washington logged 25 carries in a 38-33 barn burner between the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets in Week 8, while Jeanty only managed two carries. Washington Jr. outsnapped Jeanty 38-25, while Jeanty has been mostly delegated to receiving work in recent weeks.
While this performance was a good sign for dynasty managers of Washington Jr., the result of this game may indicate what he represents for your squad. His 8.3 fantasy points on 25 empty-calorie carries did almost nothing for your team, while Jeanty’s six opportunities turned into 8.8 fantasy points. We will have to continue monitoring the Raiders backfield in their upcoming games against the 49ers, Seahawks, and Broncos, games that they are not expected to win or score as many points as they did in Week 8.
Emmett (in Jason’s voice) Johnson had his breakout game against the Denver Broncos in Week 8. His 73-yard receiving TD was the highlight of his day, but he turned his other five opportunities into 70 more yards. The only issue is that despite the big-play ability he displayed in this game, he still saw only six opportunities. Oddly enough, he saw his lowest total snap count and his second-lowest snap share of the season in Week 8. He saw the most snaps in Week 1 with 25 (36%), and has not been above 30% in any game since. I think it would take another performance like this for Andy Reid to consider significantly increasing Johnson’s snap share to anything above his season-high.
Most yards per reception among RB this season
Emmett Johnson 16.9
Bhayshul Tuten 12.1
Jaylen Warren 11.8
Ty Johnson 11.6
Ashton Jeanty 10.2

Dynasty Stock Report
Lamar Jackson suffered a right thumb injury on the Ravens’ first play of Week 8. Jackson had surgery and will be placed on IR, potentially ending his 2026 season. Joe Fagnano instantly becomes a must-add in dynasty leagues as a potential rest-of-season starting QB. This marks the second consecutive season that Lamar will not finish as a QB1, and it made me take a step back and reconsider how I view him as a dynasty asset. Mobile QBs typically have not historically aged well in the NFL, and Lamar will be 30 by the start of the 2027 season. We all know how good Lamar can be, but his recurring injury issues have kept him out of fantasy superstardom. He has been outside the top-12 QBs since 2021. It would be tough to completely give up on Lamar’s upside, especially during the Josh Allen era, where elite QBs to match up against the Allen manager in your league are necessary to win a dynasty championship. However, I would suggest gauging the value you could get for Jackson in dynasty leagues. Targeting rebuilding teams that are on the brink of success may be your best bet, as they may be willing to take on the empty, injury-riddled season in hopes of a better future.
I don’t mean to sound alarmist or overreact to Emmett Johnson’s monster Week 8 performance, but I think Walker III’s dynasty value has dipped a little in recent weeks, or at least plateaued. I viewed Walker III up there with Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson in the Chiefs’ first five games of the season, but their last two games have shown that Walker III is human. He saw 45 opportunities in those games for a total of 141 yards. His usage has not dipped much, but his efficiency has declined. These two games were against the Seahawks’ and Broncos’ elite defenses, so this take may age well over the next month, when Kansas City faces the Jets, Falcons, and Cardinals. I have Walker III in a tier of his own now, with Gibbs and Robinson clearly ahead of him, but guys like James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, and the rest of the pack are significantly behind Walker III.
The start of the season may have left a permanent bad taste in your mouth if you have Colston Loveland in a fantasy football league. Mr. Loveland scored 0.8 fantasy points in Weeks 1 and 2 combined. However, it is time to forgive and forget. In Weeks 4-8, Loveland has seen the fourth-highest target share for TEs at 25%, a number higher than Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze’s target share. Loveland is back to being a priority in the Bears’ offense, rather than just being a supporting piece. While it is clear that he is significantly behind Brock Bowers and Trey McBride, Loveland has solidified himself back into the tier of young TEs not named Bowers alongside Tyler Warren.
Bears pass-catchers since Caleb Williams returned from injury (Wk6-8), per @FantasyPtsData:

The offensive mastermind Sean Payton has done next to nothing with Jaylen Waddle this season. Waddle has 338 total yards from scrimmage and two TDs through eight games. Unfortunately, Waddle has been relegated to a complementary role in Denver’s offense. He has played 65% of snaps so far this season, and his snap share has gone down in three consecutive games. While there could be a general shift in the offense following their Week 10 bye, the Broncos lead the AFC West, and there is no real reason to switch up their current system. There is a chance you could sell Waddle at a relatively high price based on his name value, but I doubt you would get a return you would have been satisfied with during the offseason.
Prospect Performances
Last Week’s matchup between Florida and Georgia featured two of the highest-rated RB prospects of the 2027 NFL Draft class. Georgia’s Nate Frazier had a solid day, recording 77 scrimmage yards and a TD in the Bulldogs’ win. Jadan Baugh struggled on the other side of the field for Florida, rushing the ball 17 times for 38 yards and not catching a single pass.
Georgia held Jaden Baugh to 38 yards on 17 carries.
21 of those yards…
– 3rd and 16 run for 6 yards
– 15-yard run with one second left in the first half.
15 carries for 17 yards otherwise.

Jeremiah Smith had a relatively disappointing game for his standards, “only” posting 10/83/1 with Luke Fahey at QB for The Ohio State. Julian Sayin’s right arm injury will likely cause him to miss the rest of the season, which will affect Smith’s performance.
This Week’s Marquee Prospect Matchup
Miami vs Notre Dame
Darian Mensah and CJ Carr will face off this week as two of the best QB prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft. Both QBs are top-five in the Heisman race right now, and this game could serve as the CFB version of the 2023 Christmas game between Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy, where Lamar, outshining Purdy, declared him the clear MVP favorite. Hopefully this matchup lives up to the hype and both QBs showcase what they can bring to your dynasty roster (or NFL rosters) next season.
