NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Picks for Week 8 (Fantasy Football)
Each week I’ll highlight my favorite GPP picks that I have some confidence heading into the weekend to put into my player pools. For more on GPP strategy and the mechanics of it, make sure you listen to our DFS GPP Overview episode. On the Fantasy Footballers DFS Podcast, Betz and myself will dive into a couple of these but this article is intended for DFS Pass subscribers to get the full lay of the land.
Selecting QBs for GPPs is about finding stacking partners that also give you leverage on the field. Remember QB roster percentages are relatively flat. Nevertheless, refer to the FanDuel cash game picks and then add these guys in the mix of players who are contrarian.
Josh Allen vs MIA- $8,800
I know I mentioned Allen in the cash game article but I wanted to give you permission to also go overweight in GPPs as well. The ceiling is immense as you saw in Week 3 and 5 when he went for more than 36+ points. Soaking up that type of production with two BUF pass-catchers seems quite easy. With Dawson Knox out of the picture, I’ll definitely be taking the absurd discount with Stefon Diggs and adding either Emmanuel Sanders or Cole Beasley. As I detailed in the Pace of Play article, this profiles as the most up-tempo game. Heck even if there’s a Buffalo blowout like Week 2 you can still see him getting there with his 31-point team implied total.
Tom Brady @ NO- $8,300
Brady is reserved only for GPPs as he’s struggled against this Saints defense in the past even putting up floor numbers. Luckily, Tampa Bay has put the foot on the gas throwing the ball at the 3rd highest rate in the league when leading and highest (86%) when trailing. Either way you get access to the league leader in completions, attempts, and passing yards. The Buccaneers lead the league in 20+ yard pass plays as Brady has the highest clean pocket rate in the NFL. Double stacking with Brady is a must if you play him and with Gronk back in the mix, don’t be afraid to add him in.
