Is it time to start taking the Cardinals’ WR A.J. Green seriously? He has scored double-digit fantasy points over the past three weeks and has a touchdown in two of them. How much of his production will continue isn’t guaranteed, but as long as QB Kyler Murray keeps looking his way six times a game, Green is bound to put points on the board. The upcoming schedule isn’t great, but that has not seemed to matter to the Cardinals who just steamrolled the staunch Los Angeles Rams in Week 4.
Welcome back, Jamison Crowder! The Jets WR made his 2021 debut last Sunday in an epic win over the Tennessee Titans. Crowder didn’t miss a beat, even with a rookie quarterback in Zach Wilson. He had seven receptions on nine targets for 61 yards and a touchdown with fellow WR Corey Davis also on the field. He is a PPR monster and should be picked up now that he is healthy.
The Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett is finally starting to play more like the starter from his days with the Colts and less like a terrified backup in Tua Tagovailoa’s absence. WR DeVante Parker had a big game with the better QB play with four receptions on nine targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. Miami will face the Buccaneers in Week 5 who have allowed the fourth-most points to wide receivers with their beleaguered secondary.

Let’s start right off with two backups you should target. First is Damien Williams of the Chicago Bears. In his own right, he has proven that he can be a productive running back, but with news of David Montgomery’s injury, Williams should be your first target on the waiver wire. Montgomery may miss up to five weeks, so Williams is the next man up in an offensive that hasn’t grown into their firepower ability in the passing game. Khalil Herbert then becomes the RB2 and could be stashed to see how the Bears will use both backs moving forward.
Next, and a bit murkier, is Samaje Perine for the Bengals. Joe Mixon suffered a high ankle sprain on Thursday but is still considered week-to-week. Mixon has had issues staying on the field for a full season so picking up Perine might be a good idea.
Since running backs seem to be dropping like flies, picking up Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell should be on your radar. Defenses are basically eliminating Miles Sanders and Gainwell is the primary beneficiary of a bottled-up Sanders. Their schedule is pretty tough over the next few weeks, but you may not have many other options with all of the injuries to the position.

Tight Ends
Team | Player | Roster % | Upcoming |
MIA | Mike Gesicki | 79% | @ TB, @ JAX, vs ATL |
BUF | Dawson Knox | 50% | @ KC, @ TEN, BYE |
DAL | Dalton Schultz | 40% | vs NYG, @ NE. BYE |
ARI | Maxx Williams | 4% | vs SF, @ CLE, vs HOU |
MIN | Tyler Conklin | 23% | vs DET, @ CAR, BYE |
JAX | Dan Arnold | 6% | vs TEN, vs MIA, BYE |
IND | Mo Alie-Cox | 4% | @ BAL, vs HOU, @ SF |
LAC | Jared Cook | 59% | vs CLE, @ BAL, BYE |
NYG | Evan Engram | 39% | @ DAL, vs LAR, vs CAR |
Although he couldn’t do too much with his six targets, Evan Engram of the Giants is an option at tight end. The matchup this week against the Cowboys is very juicy, and Engram has the opportunity to see the same or more targets with Sterling Shepard sidelined.
Dalton Schultz seems to have Dak Prescott’s eye, speaking of the Cowboys. He saw eight targets with six receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown. That stat line could have been even bigger. He also has a great matchup against the Giants this week but faces a tougher opponent in New England in Week 6 and has a bye in Week 7.
The Buccaneers’ TE Rob Gronkowski was diagnosed with several broken ribs and a punctured lung. It is safe to stay he will likely miss some time. Even though there are a lot of talented mouths to feed in Tampa Bay, Tom Brady is not scared of targeting the TE position. His ceiling is capped because of the wide receivers, but he could pull through for you if you are desperate at the position.
