Targets Per Route Run Report: Week 3 (Fantasy Football)

Welcome to the Week 3 Targets Per Route Run Report! As Week 2 comes to a close, I am excited to implement the evolution of this article as we identify players who are heating up or cooling off. Eventually, we will find players who are on fire or are in Antarctica.

Before we dive into targets per route run for Week 2, I want to highlight some articles on The Fantasy Footballers that are related to TPRR. They will help you paint a clearer picture as you manage your team as the season progresses.

Now to TPRR and some helpful reminders. You can find some more fleshed-out thoughts in my 2026 Season Preview.

Targets ÷ Routes Run = Targets Per Route Run (TPRR)

As a very loose rule of thumb, this is how you break down TPRR:

• 30%+ is truly elite TPRR
• 25-30% is excellent
• 20-25% is a good, fantasy-relevant range
• Below 20% is where you really have to look into the data more

A 19% TPRR deep threat can still be valuable, while a 25% TPRR player only running 12 routes a game is not going to help your fantasy team very much.

I am qualifying each position by total routes run. This will help to filter out players who have an extreme TPRR percentage but only ran a few routes. This will give us actionable fantasy data.

• WR: 15 routes x games played
• TE: 10 routes x games played
• RB: 5 routes x games played

Once we filter for routes run, the final filter is positional median through Week 2. They are as follows:

• WR: 19.2 TPRR %
• TE: 17 TPRR %
• RB: 20 TPRR %
• OVR: 19.1 TPRR %

Now for the fun part,

He’s Heating Up!

This list is simply players who have exceeded the median by more than 5%. With the above parameters, there are 28 players on the heating up list, with many also 10% above their positional median.

As for actionable items, I am drawn to the TEs. Yes, there are the popular names from the preseason popping up like George Kittle and Isaiah Likely. There are two others that I have my eye on: Mark Andrews and Dr. Dalton Schultz. The doctor just had a huge game with Nico Collins out, and he boasts an excellent 28.9% TPRR over the first two weeks.

I want to highlight Mark Andrews because his total fantasy points do not match his usage. While TPRR is not a predictive guarantee, Andrews is getting some excellent usage, and he is the kind of guy I like to target if I have to stream.

He’s Cooling Off!

With the same parameters as above, there are 13 players headed to the icebox. These are players at least 5% below their positional median in both of the last two weeks.

Colston Loveland’s decline over the last two weeks is well documented, so we will not belabor the point. He was bad both with and without Caleb Williams.

My concerns arise with Chris Godwin. His season TPRR is 10.3%. That might not even be roster-worthy, making him either a bounce-back candidate or a sell if you can find a buyer. I will be risking him bouncing back on another roster. While he did not make this list due to his middling TPRR week last week, Emeka Egbuka has a shaky-at-best TPRR, bumping him to the bench. The whole team is off after the embarrassing loss to the Browns on Sunday, so I am not starting Buccaneers pass catchers until something turns around.
