NFL Week 2 Weather Conditions (Fantasy Football)
The first week is in the books and overall it was a nice one for weather. I only saw a few impacts, namely the wind in Buffalo causing a missed Tyler Bass field goal, and the humidity down in Miami looking miserable. This next week will be bringing some additional impacted games, read below to find out which ones you need to take a look at!
Also, don’t forget to read Matt DiSorbo’s excellent article “Whether Weather Really Matters” covering the statistics behind weather impacts.
Early Afternoon Games
Indianapolis Colts @ Green Bay Packers
LOW impact. It will be a nice day up in Green Bay, with high temps in the low-80s and light winds. Start all the players you normally would.
New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans
MEDIUM impact. The post-tropical remnants of Hurricane Francine will be around the Nashville area on Sunday causing an increased chance of rain showers. Aside from the rain, no other impacts are expected during game time. Winds will be in the single digits and temps around the low-80s.
Seattle Seahawks @ New England Patriots
LOW impact. Beautiful day in the Northeast, with no impact from the weather expected. High temps in the upper-70s with light wind.
New York Giants @ Washington Commanders
Low impact. Another nice game along the East Coast, with highs in the low-80s and winds in the low-teens.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Carolina Panthers
MEDIUM impact. There is a small chance of rain showers during the game, but the wind is the real concern here. Sustained winds will be in the teens with gusts reaching into the low-20s. If you were looking to start Eddy Pineiro or Cameron Dicker you may want to look for an alternative.
Las Vegas Raiders @ Baltimore Ravens
LOW impact. Great conditions for the game. High temps in the low-80s and winds in the single digits.
Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars
MEDIUM impact. Looking at some rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the Jacksonville area on Sunday with a higher chance in the second half of the game. Additionally, the wind will be in the mid-teens and gusting up to the mid-20s. Expect both teams to rely more on the ground game and shorter passes, especially while raining.
Late Afternoon Games
Pittsburgh Steelers @Denver Broncos
LOW impact. Nice day in the Mile High State. Winds in the high single digits and there will be some gusts to the high-teens, but those will be pretty infrequent. High temps in the upper-80s.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs
LOW impact. Great afternoon in Kansas City. Highs in the 80s and light winds.
Monday Night Game
Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
LOW impact. No issues are expected Monday night. Temps during game time in the mid-60s with minimal winds.
Weather is a dynamic thing and can change! Keep an eye on your local weather source leading up to kickoff to see if anything changes significantly. Good luck!
