Deshaun Watson, QB (CLE)

Trending toward sitting out Week 9

Watson is expected to face an uphill battle to clear concussion protocol prior to Sunday's game against the Saints, leaving Shedeur Sanders as the Browns' likely Week 9 starting quarterback, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

After reporting concussion symptoms Tuesday following Sunday's loss to the Steelers, Watson entered the protocol and isn't expected to practice Wednesday. Sanders will take all of the first-team reps Wednesday, and unless Watson can pass through the protocol quickly, the Browns will prepare for the second-year signal-caller to direct the offense in Week 9.
