Faces 'uphill battle' to play

Beckham (shoulder), who is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Broncos, has an "uphill battle" to play, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.

According to Palmer, the Browns aren't completely dismissing the possibility of Beckham suiting up, but he seems to have lower odds of playing than the 50-50 questionable designation would imply. Beckham was listed as a non-participant on the practice report Monday through Wednesday while tending to what Josina Anderson of USA Today relays is a Grade 3 AC joint sprain. The expected return of Jarvis Landry (knee) from injured reserve would help alleviate a potential Beckham absence, but Cleveland will still be short on position talent nonetheless with Nick Chubb (calf), Kareem Hunt (calf) and Baker Mayfield (shoulder) all sidelined. Expect Beckham to go through a pregame workout before a final decision on his status is made when Cleveland reveals its inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
