Sees extended action Thursday

Haskins completed eight of 13 passes for 54 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed twice for four yards during the Steelers' 16-3 preseason win over the Cowboys in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game.

The 2019 15th overall pick officially began his journey toward what he and the Steelers hope is a career revival by getting an extended opportunity to man the offense beginning late in the first half. Haskins averaged a modest 4.2 yards per attempt, but unlike the player he's battling for the No. 2 quarterback job, Mason Rudolph, he did not commit any turnovers. The competition between the two players figures to run through the balance of preseason, and Haskins may eventually get a chance to work with multiple first-team wideouts in at least one preseason game, as was the case with Rudolph on Thursday.
