Week 12 DFS Injury Impact
Injuries and players missing time for other reasons are always a big deal in fantasy football but even more so in DFS where one player’s issues can completely alter an entire game and the next man up mantra becomes vital due to the salary cap nature of DFS. Thus, it’s important to stay on top of all the injury and suspension news before locking in your DFS lineups.
Here are the most relevant players on the main slate (If you’re looking for injury news for the primetime slate, check out my primetime slate article) in danger of missing time or returning to action in Week 12:
OUT for the Patriots: Chris Hogan
Doubtful for the Patriots: Martellus Bennett
Upgrade: Brandin Cooks, Rob Gronkowski, Rex Burkhead, Danny Amendola, and Phillip Dorsett
We definitely want to get some exposure to the Patriots offense this week. Tom Brady leads the league in passing yards and has 345 more passing yards than any other player in the league. He’s dominating the league once again. Shocker. Brady is also second in the league in pass TDs and now gets to play at home against a Dolphins defense that ranks second worst in pass DVOA. And with Chris Hogan ruled out once again and Martellus Bennett likely to miss as well, Brandin Cooks and Rob Gronkowski once again look like phenomenal plays. And Rex Burkhead, Danny Amendola, and Philip Dorsett are back on the tournament radar.
OUT for the Rams: Robert Woods
OUT for the Saints: Marcus Lattimore and Ken Crawley
Upgrade: Cooper Kupp and Sammy Watkins
Jared Goff is in a really solid spot this week. He gets to play at home in a game with a current Over/Under of 53.5 points against a Saints defense that will be down two starting cornerbacks. Both Marcus Lattimore and Ken Crawley have already been ruled out. And for the Rams, the team leader in targets, Robert Woods, will also not play. That opens up a ton of targets for both Cooper Kupp and Sammy Watkins. Thus, Kupp looks like a very strong cash game play while Watkins looks like an exciting tournament option.
