NFL DFS WR vs CB Matchups to Exploit in Week 18 (Fantasy Football)
It’s Week 18 and your final change to integrate specific WR/CB matchups into your DFS process. While this is only a piece of the puzzle, this tool allows you to better value ceiling-type plays for elite WRs and who can run circles around their opponent.
I break up this WR/CB article into a couple of categories: Alpha WRs, Slot Mavens, Discount Target Specials, and Full-On Fades. The goal is to go from the top-tier stars to move down to bargain WRs with excellent matchups. As always, make sure you use the tools found in the DFS Pass such as the Value Comparison and Buzz Report to discern which WR would be best in cash and tournament lineup builds.
Alpha WRs
Justin Jefferson is showing up as the most popular WR in tournaments in our roster percentage report. He lines up all over the field (LWR-36%, SWR-31%, RWR-32%) which is wild because coming out of college, he was pegged as a slot-only guy. Jefferson is the WR1 in total fantasy points since Week 9 and he’s a beast at home in his career averaging over 100 receiving yards per game. Chicago will try to roll with Cover 2 safety help over the top and Kirk Cousins traditionally picks that apart. The Bears are allowing the 8th highest target success rate to the WR position and the 5th highest 3rd down success rate, where Jefferson is the primary option. Jefferson is a strong play in our projections with significant savings down from Cooper Kupp.
