Locked-In Cash Plays
Borg – Beyond Gibbs, I am conceding Brenton Strange in my cash lineup. 12 targets last week is just the beginning of the story as his 35% 1st Read target share and 30% TPRR was elite stuff. The Raiders are 29th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs and his pricing just fits so well. I’m assuming 60+ percent of the field will play him in Double-Ups so instead of trying to get cute in cash, Strange is the pierce I play and move on.
Betz – Jahmyr Gibbs averaged 23 touches per game last year in three games without David Montgomery. He’s ultra explosive, he plays extremely well in the pass game, he’ll get goal line touches, plays behind one of the best offensive lines in football, and the Bears are a mess defensively right now. I can’t imagine not playing him in cash games.
DraftKings Core Plays
These are the 3-5 players at each position we have mixed in our cash player pool. Based on salaries, late news, and budget constraints, it is guaranteed you will not be able to fit in all of them. But their high floors and team-implied totals make them great plays for the week in both cash & GPPs.
These are simply in order of favorite core players. You obviously won’t be able to fit all in a cash lineup and there are salary tradeoffs for paying up at each position.
| DraftKings-QB | BORG | BETZ |
| 1 | Anthony Richardson | Anthony Richardson |
| 2 | Michael Penix Jr. | Michael Penix Jr. |
| 3 | Kyler Murray | Caleb Williams |
| 4 | Caleb Williams | Joe Burrow |
| 5 | Joe Burrow | Kyler Murray |
Paying down in cash is going to be en vogue this week. Expect a lot of builds with Penix in order to pay up at 2-3 spots in lineups. If we had the extra $900, we’d love to get up to ARich and secure his 40+ rushing yards per game and potential goal-line TD. In tourneys, consider how popular the cheap QBs will be and find different roster constructions that maximize your leverage.
