NFL Week 7 Weather Conditions
You’re in luck if you’re going to a game this weekend. The weather looks beautiful across the board, but a cold front moving into the northeast will be felt at a couple games and could impact a couple others.
Here are the weather conditions for all non-London, outdoor NFL games in Week 7 and the potential fantasy impact:
Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets
1:00PM ET
METLIFE STADIUM
EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY
Temp: 55°
Precipitation: None
Wind: 17 mph
Wind Gusts: 30 mph
Fantasy Impact: Keep an eye on the weather for this game. As of Saturday morning, it looks like it will be breezy with some pretty high gusts but the forecast is calling for the winds to die down significantly over the course of the game. Even though Joe Flacco is known for his deep shots, his 3.35 Air Yards/Attempt is among the lowest in the league and the Jets probably aren’t going to get too cute calling deep shots with Geno Smith making his first start this year. Unless game script forces the hand of either team, winds aren’t likely to be a big factor even if they are strong.
Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles
1:00PM ET
LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
Temp: 57°
Precipitation: None
Wind: 18 mph
Wind Gusts: 30 mph
Fantasy Impact: A cold front is moving into the northeast driving down temperatures and creating higher winds. Winds of 18 mph aren’t necessarily bad, but if those 30 mph gusts are felt on the field, it could play havoc on deeper throws. That being said, neither Sam Bradford or Carson Wentz are known for taking frequent deep shots. Eagles receivers only have two receptions for greater than 35 yards and one of those went to Darren Sproles. Wentz only averages 3.69 Air Yards/Attempt, which is among the lowest in the league. Bradford averages 4.37 Air Yards/Attempt, which actually ranks eighth most but the Vikings have the sixth highest rush percentage in the league. With two good defensive teams on the field, you’re probably already steering clear of this game whether weather (see what I did there) has an impact or not.
