NFL Week 3 Weather Conditions (Fantasy Football)
I know everyone and their brother is worried about Kansas City. It’s definitely a concern, but the hype about the conditions are probably overblown. There has to be some serious, as in extreme weather conditions, before you should consider benching your studs.

Fantasy Impact: There’s going to be much ado about this game. The rain, the rain! The field is natural turf, but it’s Gucci natural turf. This field actually has heat coils that can keep it from freezing over. Do you think it doesn’t have superior drainage? It will be wet and a bit more slippery than a dry field, but nothing crazy. You may see players slip here and there, but not enough to significantly benefit or detract from an individual player and even then, can you guess which players will slip?
It will be wet between the moisture on the field and the light rain we’re likely to see, but I don’t think it’ll be enough to significantly impair either team’s offense. I am lightly downgrading Marquise Brown and Mecole Hardman because neither Lamar Jackson nor Patrick Mahomes have particularly large hands relative to NFL QBs, but the effect should be minimal.
I actually like Kansas City and Baltimore’s run games a bit better. Anytime the field becomes a bit more slick, offenses tend to benefit since defenses are inherently reactionary. You may have expected Baltimore to run more to keep the Kansas City offense off the field anyways. This gives a bump to Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram.
I also think LeSean McCoy is in a smash spot. Between being the primary RB on the KC offense and being used on a slicker field, he’s going under the radar this week. Remember the 32 rushes for 156 yards and 1 TD game he had in Buffalo during a blizzard? Better offense, slick field, and injury to Damien Williams. He may be your secret to jamming high-priced RBs into your lineup this week. He’s definitely RB2-flex start worthy.
As for the plethora of studs in this game including Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson? This is not the spot to get cute with your studs. The weather isn’t ideal, but it’s not bad enough to sit your studs. Play them at will.
