Tyrod Taylor, QB, BUF

Patellar tendon contusion: day to day
Taylor originally was originally injured on the first quarter of the game and attempted to battle through it, but was ultimately carted off early in the fourth quarter. Fortunately, he avoided any ligament damage to his knee. Initially, these injuries can be very painful, but once the swelling is reduced and the knee is moving, he can start to jog and eventually, run. Taylor will be progressed primarily using pain and soreness as the guide. He should be considered day to day.

Other players impacted: Nathan Peterman, Charles Clay, Zay Jones

Zach Ertz, TE, PHI

Concussion: day to day
Ertz left Sunday Night Football early in the third quarter with a concussion and didn’t return. He now enters the league’s concussion protocol and will be progressed based on his symptoms. If he can’t go in Week 14, Trey Burton is a very interesting start in his place. Burton hauled in 4 catches for 42 yards in relief of Ertz, and in Week 9 when Ertz sat with a hamstring injury, he reeled in 2 catches for 41 yards and a score.

Other players impacted: Trey Burton, Nelson Agholor, Carson Wentz

Matthew Stafford, QB, DET

Bruised hand: day to day
Stafford left Sunday’s game early after Terrell Suggs stepped on his right hand. X-rays were negative, so he avoided any fractures. Important to note, Stafford’s injury occurred to his throwing hand, so his availability for Week 14 can’t be taken for granted. He will have to demonstrate that he can take snaps, grip the ball, and of course, throw it without limitations in order to play next week. Historically, however, Stafford has played through injuries, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him suit up in Week 14.

Other players impacted: Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, Jake Rudock

Delanie Walker, TE, TEN

Sprained ankle: day to day
Walker was great on Sunday, posting 5 catches for 63 yards and a score. However, he appeared to re-aggravate his ankle injury from earlier this year. Walker is likely dealing with some soreness in the ankle, so expect the Titans to limit his reps in practice this week. He’s proven over and over again that he will play through his injuries, so I’m not worried about his Week 14 status.

Other players impacted: Jonnu Smith, Marcus Mariota

Dak Prescott, QB, DAL

Bruised hand: day to day
On Thursday Night Football, Dak Prescott had his right hand hit by the face mask of a defender. X-rays were taken during the game, which were negative for a fracture. Prescott was able to stay in the game with obvious swelling in the hand, but actually didn’t look limited at all. There isn’t much concern regarding this injury, but don’t be surprised to see Dak show up on the injury report, especially early in the week.

Other players impacted: Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, Alfred Morris

C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, HOU

Concussion: week to week
Fiedorowicz suffered his third concussion of the season on Sunday, so his prognosis is more ominous than others listed on this list with the same injury. Research shows that subsequent concussions within a season will make the recovery process even longer. Fiedorowicz spent most of the middle part of the season on IR because of a concussion. His season could be over.

Other players impacted: Stephen Anderson, Tom Savage

Bruce Ellington, WR, HOU

Hamstring strain: week to week
Ellington exited early with a hamstring injury and didn’t return. Details regarding the severity of the injury have yet to be released, but given how likely hamstring injuries are to linger for multiple weeks, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ellington sit in Week 14. Of note, Braxton Miller also got injured with a concussion, so it’s very possible he misses as well.

Other players impacted: Andre Ellington, Tom Savage, Deandre Hopkins

Joe Mixon, RB, CIN

Concussion: week to week
Mixon was in a collision with two Steelers defenders in the second quarter and immediately went down. It clearly looked like he was knocked out however, he eventually walked off the field. Mixon enters the league’s concussion protocol and will be progressed based on his symptoms.  This is his first incident in the NFL. Giovani Bernard will be the main back with Jeremy Hill being put on the IR earlier in the season. Bernard finished with 96 total yards and has some low-end RB2 appeal in PPR leagues moving forward. Brian Hill, a rookie originally drafted by Atlanta, moves up to 2nd on the depth chart. He is a bruising back out of Wyoming who has yet to see any action this year.

Other players impacted: Giovani Bernard, Brian Hill, Andy Dalton
