It’s Week 9 and the Browns, Cowboys, Broncos, Giants, Steelers and 49ers have a bye. Let’s take a look at some names who could be available on your waiver wire to fill in for missing players. Remember to listen to the podcast to see who Andy, Mike, and Jason think you should drop to make room for these players.

The Ballers’ consensus number-one wide receiver this week is Rondale Moore of the Arizona Cardinals. He was finally able to convert seven receptions on eight targets into his first touchdown of the season in Week 8. He also added a season-high 92 yards, including a 38-yard catch, on 11.5 yards per target. He has a rough set of games ahead of him facing the Seahawks, Rams, and 49ers but is making the best out of Marquise Brown’s absence, even with DeAndre Hopkins on the field.

The fact that Rashod Bateman will miss more time due to injury is good news for Devin Duvernay. While he scored a receiving touchdown in only one of the last six games, he should continue to see targets with Bateman sidelined. Granted, the target share isn’t monstrous, but he has been involved in the return game as well as adding some rushing yardage to his stat line. He rushed twice for 33 yards that he turned into a score in Week 8.

Joshua Palmer is another viable option who is only rostered in 30% of sleeper leagues. Even though Keenan Allen has returned, Mike Williams is currently banged up. Palmer missed Week 7 due to injury but was able to catch nine of Justin Herbert’s 12 targets for 57 yards. He is an option to fill in half and full PPR scoring and Herbert looks his way for short-yardage gains.

LAR Ronnie Rivers 4% @TB / ARI / @NO
CIN Samaje Perine 12% CAR / BYE / @PIT

If D’Onta Foreman, Khalil Herbert, or Tyler Allgeier are on the waiver wire, they should be immediate additions to your squad. They are rostered in 78%, 60%, and 61% of sleeper leagues respectively, but it’s worth a look to see if they are available.

Kenyan Drake is also worth an add if you have room. The Ravens do not play until Monday night, but Gus Edwards is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury. Drake posted good numbers after Edwards left the game in the fourth quarter. However, he was quiet up until Edwards left. If Drake is the RB1 against New Orleans, he will see the volume, but the Saints held Josh Jacobs to just 43 yards on the ground last week. Part of that was due to the game script, but Drake should be started only if Edwards cannot suit up.

Isiah Pacheco has become a thing in the Chiefs’ offense even if Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the one getting the goal line looks. Pacheco is rostered in 46% of sleeper leagues and they will face the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. If the game becomes a runaway, the Chiefs may start handing the ball off to both backs to burn time off of the clock.

Tight Ends

Team Player Roster % Matchups
DEN Greg Dulcich 46% BYE / @TEN / LV
BAL Isaiah Likely 7% @NO / BYE / CAR
CIN Hayden Hurst 73% CAR / BYE / @PIT
JAX Evan Engram 48% LV / @KC / BYE
BUF Dawson Knox 71% @NYJ / MIN / CLE
NYJ Tyler Conklin 15% BUF / BYE / @NE
GB Robert Tonyan 53% @DET / DAL / TEN
CLE Harrison Bryant 12% BYE / @MIA / @BUF
MIA Mike Gesicki 65% @CHI / CLE / BYE

If you need to stash a tight end for Week 10, pick up Greg Dulcich. The Titans and the Raiders can be exploited at the tight end position and Russell Wilson has been looking Dulcich’s way now that he is healthy. He posted nine targets in Week 7 and five last week for a total of 138 yards.

Even though the Jaguars have been struggling on offense to win games, TE Evan Engram has been able to be productive for managers. He is rostered in 48% of sleeper leagues and has a juicy matchup against the Raiders this week. Zay Jones and Engram have usurped Christian Kirk in target share and that trend doesn’t look to be slowing down.
