It’s the final week to secure your spot in the playoffs. After a massive bye week, managers will only have to survive without the likes of Terry McLaurin, Kyler Murray, Trey McBride, and any other options on the Commanders and Cardinals. There were a lot of wide receiver injuries in Week 13, which presents some opportunities for others to step up that might be chilling on your bench or the waiver wire. Let’s dive in to see who is poised to pay off in the last week of the regular season.

This weekly series gives actionable insights for the week ahead based on Targets Per Route Run (TPRR). TPRR is calculated by dividing a player’s targets by their routes run and expressing it as a percentage. We use this statistic to evaluate a player’s efficiency and production related to their opportunities. To learn more about TPRR and why it’s a useful tool, check out the 2023 season preview.

Week 13 Recap

Here’s a look at Week 13’s top 25 in Targets Per Route Run (minimum 🎉 15  🎉 routes run):

Takeaways

  • Elijah Moore (28% TPRR) is someone I’m targeting on the waiver wire and would start in Week 14. He finished Week 13 with a season-high 83 yards on 12 targets. Amari Cooper is likely to miss at least one game with a concussion, and newly-installed Joe Flacco is almost a lock for 40+ pass attempts weekly.
  • Welcome to the top of the leaderboard, Mike Evans! Despite running a pedestrian 27 routes in Week 13, Evans saw 12 targets and turned that into fantasy gold. The rest of the Bucs’ offense saw 15 targets combined.
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba is poised to explode and has passed Tyler Lockett in my rankings. JSN faces the 49ers’ defense this week, but he was targeted 11 times against the vaunted Dallas Cowboys and had a touchdown reception narrowly overturned by review. He should be peppered with targets as Geno Smith faces pressure from San Francisco.

Season Leaders

Here are the season leaders in TPRR among qualified receivers through Week 13, with the minimum routes run set at 165. The right-hand column (+/-) shows a player’s movement in the rankings from week to week.

Takeaways

  • Jordan Love has been cooking the last few weeks, and Christian Watson was just starting to heat up. Unfortunately, Watson has a hamstring issue that could force him to miss time. Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed are both hovering around 19% TPRR for the season, and one or both should benefit from Watson’s absence. What’s more, Green Bay has a top-three schedule for wide receivers for the rest of the season.
  • Tank Dell‘s season-ending injury leaves a big hole in the Texans offense. Nico Collins (25% TPRR) looks to continue as the top receiving option, but C.J. Stroud has proven to be the first rookie quarterback who can support multiple fantasy receivers. Noah Brown finished as a WR1 in Weeks 9 and 10 when Nico Collins was hurt, so Brown could fill that role again.
  • Cooper Kupp may have benefited from the fact that Puka Nacua was on and off the field in Week 13. Nacua is not expected to miss time with his AC joint sprain, and Matthew Stafford has thrown seven touchdowns in the last two weeks. Baltimore presents a tough matchup, but the Rams’ offense has the opportunity to go off against Washington (Week 15) and the Giants (Week 17).
