Week 9 brought us another weather-impacted game, with the Packers and Lions fighting through some pretty obnoxious rain. However, it didn’t seem to bother the Lions nearly as much. The moral of the story? Weather is just one part of your overall decision-making process. Match-ups, injuries, game script, and weather all play a part in this beautiful mess of a process we call fantasy football!

Of course, one way to eliminate the weather variable is to have all your games in domes, which the NFL has almost done this week. The only games that will be outside this weekend are the game in Germany and the early afternoon slate of games. All the late afternoon, Sunday night, and Monday night games will be indoors. This is good for not having to worry about weather and for shrinking the length of this article!

Read below to find out how to best navigate the weather world this weekend!

Morning Game (Germany Game)

New York Giants @ Carolina Panthers

LOW impact.  It’ll be a cooler day in Munich with high temps in the low-50s. No rain is expected and there will be no significant winds, start all your usual players.

Early Afternoon Games

New England Patriots @ Chicago Bears

MEDIUM impact.  The Windy City will be living up to the nickname on Sunday. During game time there will be sustained wind speeds from 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 3o mph. Additionally, there will be a 30% chance of rain during the game. With those winds, expect issues with the kicking team as well as the passing game.

Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs

LOW impact.  It will be a great day for football in Kansas City.  Light winds, sunny skies, and high temps in the low-60s.

San Francisco 49ers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

LOW impact.  Another nice weather game, sunny skies with high temps in the mid-80s. Winds will be in the single digits.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Washington Commanders

MEDIUM impact. The game will start off largely favorable, however after halftime, there will be a higher likelihood of rain throughout the area. The chances of rain are currently at 50%. I’m not expecting a significant amount of rain, just enough to be annoying. Winds won’t be picking up too much, so the rain itself shouldn’t impact the passing game drastically. Don’t bench your studs, just keep an eye on the game on Sunday morning.

Minnesota Vikings @ Jacksonville Jaguars

MEDIUM impact. There will be a 60% chance of rain throughout the game. The rain chances, combined with slightly increased wind speeds of 9-12 mph with gusts up to the 20s will cause some issues. Expect some minor impacts to kickers, along with some issues with passing. That all being said, do not bench your studs (looking at you Justin Jefferson managers out there).

Weather is a dynamic thing and can change! Keep an eye on your local weather source leading up to kickoff to see if anything changes significantly.  Good luck!
