Week 4 DFS Injury Impact
Injuries and players missing time for other reasons are always a big deal in fantasy football but even more so in DFS where one player’s issues can completely alter an entire game and the next man up mantra becomes vital due to the salary cap nature of DFS. Thus, it’s important to stay on top of all the injury and suspension news before locking in your DFS lineups.
Editor’s note: DFS Pass buyers will receive a “Gameday Alerts” email, one hour before the main kickoff on Sunday and Ben will be on Periscope at 11:30 AM ET.
Here are the most relevant players on the main slate (If you’re looking for injury news for the primetime slate, check out the primetime slate article) in danger of missing time or returning to action in Week 4:
Cincinnati Bengals @ Atlanta Falcons – 1:00pm ET
OUT for the Falcons: Keanu Neal and Deion Jones
OUT for the Bengals: Joe Mixon
Upgrade: Giovani Bernard and The Bengals’ Offense
Mixon will miss another game, which makes Bernard a fantastic play this week. Bernard saw 21 opportunities last Sunday including nine targets and now gets to face a Falcons’ defense playing without MLB Deion Jones that ranks 28th in rushing yards allowed and dead last in Run DVOA so far this season. The Bengals’ passing game should find success as well since the Falcons will be suiting up without Keanu Neal and their defense ranks 26th in passing yards allowed and 25th in Pass DVOA through three weeks.
OUT for the Falcons: Devonta Freeman and Andy Levitre
Upgrade: Tevin Coleman and the Falcons’ Passing Game
Freeman is out yet again and that should lock Coleman into a hefty bankable workload. In Weeks 2 and 3 without Freeman, Coleman averaged 19 opportunities per game and now gets to play at home in a contest with a high 53.5 point Over/Under against a Bengals’ defense that ranks 26th in rushing yards allowed and 16th in Run DVOA so far this season.
