Week 2 Cash Game Picks on DraftKings
Quarterbacks
Drew Brees vs. Cleveland $7,200
Brees was in the ultimate smash spot last week and boy did he come through, throwing for 439 yards and 3 TDs. Brees currently leads the league in passing yards and now gets to play at home again against a Browns’ defense that ranked 19th in passing yards allowed and 26th in Pass DVOA. We’re going right back to the well again here with Brees.
Tyrod Taylor at New Orleans $5,900
Rushing success at the QB position is a cheat code, especially in cash games because it helps increase a player’s floor and ceiling. Enter Tyrod, who ranked third at the position in rushing yards (427) a season ago and then added 77 yards on the ground in Week 1. With Josh Gordon now listed as a starter, Taylor’s passing game weapons (Jarvis Landry, David Njoku, Duke Johnson, Josh Gordon), and Antonio Callaway) look great as well. And he gets to play in a dome in this one against a Saints’ “defense” that just gave up 417 yards and 4 TDs to Ryan Fitzpatrick and company.
Ben Roethlisberger vs. Kansas City $6,900
Big Ben is back at home, where he historically performs better, in Week 2. As of this writing, Pittsburgh has the third highest Implied Team Total (28.75) of the week and Roethlisberger should add to that mark by taking advantage of a Chiefs defense that ranked 29th in passing yards allowed and 23rd in Pass DVOA a season ago. Last week I stated the Chiefs are a pass defense I’m attacking every single week and nothing has changed after Philip Rivers dropped 424 and 3 on them in Week 1.
