Thursday Night Football is back and we get a compelling contest between Super Bowl LII quarterbacks Nick Foles and Tom Brady, except this time, both QBs are on new teams. The 3-1 Buccaneers travel to Chicago to take on the 3-1 Bears. In this contest, the Bucs are 4.5 point favorites on the road with the over/under sitting at 44 points.

Through four weeks, both Chicago and Tampa Bay are 2-2 against the spread. The Bucs have been putting up points in bunches, and their game totals have hit the over in 3/4 games. The Bears have hit the over twice through four weeks. The Tampa Bay offense has been productive in the first month of the season, ranking 7th in the NFL in points per game while the Bears are currently 25th in scoring. On the surface, it looks like the Bucs are an obvious favorite to score much more than the Bears, but the Bucs are dealing with a ton of injuries, so this is an important situation to monitor.

Captain Spot Choices

Ronald Jones $11,100
As I’m writing this, I still have reservation about going all in on Jones as my captain, as we’ve seen him disappoint in the past when given the opportunity. However, LeSean McCoy and Leonard Fournette are likely to miss this game, leaving Jones as the most likely candidate to lead Tampa in backfield touches. Enemy backs against Chicago have found success with RBs averaging 4.25 YPC against the Bears. RBs have also found the end zone 4 times on the ground in the first month of the season. As 4.5 point favorites, RoJo should find himself in a positive game script as well. The Bucs rank 7th in Football Outsiders Rush DVOA metric.
