Thursday Night DraftKings Showdown: Week 3
Welcome to Week 3! We’ve got a Thursday night showdown matchup between two teams in the sunshine state – the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams are coming off of high scoring affairs in Week 2 and through two weeks, the Jaguars are a top 10 scoring offense. I agree with Vegas in their prediction that this could actually be a really fun back and forth matchup between these two clubs with the over/under sitting at 48 points, tied for the fifth-highest on the week. It’s a small sample size, but through two weeks, these teams have a combined to go over their Vegas total in three of four opportunities.
The Jaguars are 3-point home favorites on Thursday night, and it appears sharps are on the Jags to cover the spread in this contest given that 97% of the cash is on the Jaguars while only 57% of the tickets are on the Dolphins. What can we say? It’s impossible to bet against the jorts and the mustache of Gardner Minshew.

Gardner Minshew $16,500
DraftKings’ QB9 in scoring through two weeks, Gardner Minshew finds himself in another fantastic situation in Week 3 on Thursday night against Miami. The Dolphins allowed QB6 and QB3 finishes to Cam Newton and Josh Allen, respectively. Neither of these QBs possess elite accuracy but both provide massive upside with their legs, and Gardner Minshew fits the mold (maybe to a lesser extent). Based off what we’ve seen through two weeks, Miami struggles against QBs who fit the mold of mobile, athletic QBs are able to push the ball downfield. The Dolphins have allowed 10.6 YPA and a 72% completion through two games. They’ve also given up 93 total rushing yards to opposing QBs and a total of two rushing scores to opposing signal-callers. In his two 2020 games thus far, Minshew has rushed the ball nine times, suggesting those who roster Minshew on Thursday could get a nice boost in points if Minshew can pick up yardage on the ground.
