Footclan, it is an absolute honor and privilege to be able to share my tournament thoughts with you on a weekly basis this season. My goal is to give you an extra resource to use when creating your lineups. I usually play 1 or 2 hand-built lineups every week and I’ve had much success in my career playing that way. Each week I’ll discuss my favorite stacks to utilize in large-field tournaments, ways to gain leverage on the field, and any other slate-specific thoughts.

In Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, I won the Milly Maker and several other 6 figure contests on DraftKings. I’ve also been to five live finals where I have competed against some of the best players in the industry. I’m so excited to be able to help you gain an advantage and win some big money this year!

I just finished watching my hometown Detroit Lions take down the Green Bay Packers on primetime for the 2nd year in a row. It’s an incredible time to be a Lions fan right now, but I’m just very thankful that I don’t have to vouch for Jahmyr Gibbs in this article again! I’m not sure why Dan Campbell refuses to unleash the beast but that’s a topic for a different day. There’s a lot to look forward to on this Sunday’s slate so let’s dive right in.

Slate-Specific Thoughts

It looks like the pricing on DraftKings has corrected itself a little bit since the season started, but at first glance, I still see some obvious value across the board, especially at the Wide Receiver position. I also see a couple of games with decent implied totals, and those games have some pieces we will look at. However, as usual, there is one game above all that is going to be the most popular from top to bottom.

Game of the Week – Dolphins @ Bills (O/U 53.5)

I read a stat last week that if you had only started Miami Dolphins players against the Broncos you would’ve put up something close to 200 points. That is absurd, to say the least. The Dolphins were also without star receiver Jaylen Waddle who was out with a concussion. Waddle will be active for this week’s showdown against their division rival, the Buffalo Bills. The Bills had a dominant performance on both sides of the ball last week against the Commanders, however, this will be their toughest test of the season by far. Josh Allen hasn’t used his legs much in the first few games of the season, but that may need to change on Sunday if they’re in a shootout. He’s the highest-priced Quarterback on DraftKings at $8,200 and he has the most upside out of all the studs at the top considering the game environment. You get a slight discount if you want to play Tua Tagovailoa at $7,400 but I prefer Allen mainly because of his rushing ability. Tyreek Hill $9,200 and Stefon Diggs $8,100 are two great spend-up options but let’s not forget about guys like Jaylen Waddle $7,600, Raheem Mostert $6,500, James Cook $6,300 or even Gabe Davis $5,900. I’m not fully bought into De’Von Achane at $5,700 even after his huge performance last week, but all these players can break the slate on any given Sunday. Full game stacking is an option to consider here but if you’re not, I think it would be smart to have at least a couple of players in what should be a great game for some fantasy points.

Tier 2

  • Raiders @ Chargers (O/U 48.5)
  • Broncos @ Bears (O/U 46)
  • Rams @ Colts (O/U 46)
  • Vikings @ Panthers (O/U 46.5)
