Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.

Here are the games for this week’s main slate* including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.

Overview

For newcomers, the main slate for DFS includes the Sunday early (1:00 EST) and afternoon games (4:25 EST). At first glance, here are a couple of things to note:

  • Off the Main Slate: LAC, LV, MIN, CIN, PIT, IND, DEN, DET, BAL, JAX, PHI, SEA
  • Bye Week Teams: N/A
  • Despite all of the bye weeks coming to an end, a 3-game Saturday slate diminishes the main slate field once again to just 10 total games.
  • Like last week, the afternoon games will determine the DFS slate with the three best game environments by far all in the late window. All three of those games were bet up in the last day approaching the 50-point total.
  • In the early window, keep in mind some of the gross divisional matchups (HOU/TEN, ATL/CAR, NYJ/MIA) where we often find underdogs compete. There is a reason only one game in the early window is above 40.

Quarterbacks

  • Josh Allen ($8200) vs. Dak Prescott ($8000) will be a must-watch TV. The Cowboys are on a roll averaging 38 points per game since Week 8 but the Bills come in as a surprising favorite. Keep in mind that stacking these two QBs and finding a bring-back on the other side is quite expensive for tournaments. You are likely eating 50% of your salary on DraftKings between that trio.
