NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Picks: Wild Card Weekend (Fantasy Football)
DFS strategy is different on small playoff slates. There is still something to be said for playing cash, but this article is going to focus primarily on GPP strategy.
It’s important to get unique, but that becomes tricky when you have fewer options to choose from. Ultimately, we’re looking for the highest ceiling and a few sports to get different if it makes sense. Let’s dive in.
Saturday Slate
Quarterbacks
Patrick Mahomes vs. MIA – $8,000
I wanted to get contrarian with Tua ($7000) on the other side of this game, especially since he’s the same price on DK, which is always an indicator of value. Ultimately, the frigid arctic weather and imposing KC defense keep me off him. I can’t say the same about Mahomes, who is no stranger to frigid playoff football.
The #Chiefs meanwhile have a strong track record playing in cold weather games much more frequently.

There aren’t any true dual-threat QBs on the Saturday slate, and while the matchup in Houston offers a better environment, that game has a chance of failing. If it does, the odds are that Mahomes is the highest-scoring QB on the Saturday slate, which matters when you only have four to choose from.
