NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Picks for Week 5 (Fantasy Football)
Hey there again FootClan! While Kyle Borgognoni is off soaking up the sun on the beach this week, he asked me to fill in for the FanDuel articles this week. In this edition, I’ll be featuring my favorite players for tournament lineups. For more on GPP strategy and the mechanics of it, make sure you listen to our DFS GPP Overview episode. On the Fantasy Footballers DFS Podcast, Betz and a special guest host will dive into a couple of these but this article is intended for DFS Pass subscribers to get the full lay of the land.
Quarterbacks
Selecting QBs for GPPs is about finding stacking partners that also give you leverage on the field. Remember QB roster percentages are relatively flat. You can always go back to guys that recently underperformed and hope their roster percentages come in lower. Nevertheless, refer to the FanDuel cash game picks and then add these guys in the mix of players who are contrarian.
Kyler Murray vs. SF – $8,500
Murray was at the top of the list in the cash article, but his elite combination of passing a rushing gives him the slate-breaking ceiling you need to take down a tournament. The 49ers are ranked 26th in DvP versus fantasy QBs, and Kyler has been slinging a beautiful ball all season, leading the NFL in completion percentage above expectation at 9.2%. In cash games, it’s safer to play him naked but to reach that aforementioned ceiling, you’ll want to stack him with one or more of his pass-catchers.
Dak Prescott vs. NYG $8,100
Dak is just 1 of 4 QBs with double-digit touchdown passes on the season, and we still haven’t seen his true ceiling yet. He could hit it this week playing in the highest projected scoring game on the slate. He’s also due for some positive regression in rushing touchdowns. He’s averaged a rushing touchdown every three games over his career but hasn’t taken one in himself since Week two of last season when he did it three times.
Aaron Rodgers @ CIN – $8,000
The Packers are three point road favorites in Cincinnati with a 27.3 implied point total. That sounds like a shootout to me, and I want to play Aaron Rodgers when he gets into a shootout. He and Davante Adams, who I discussed in the cash game article, are affordable enough to stack, and there are some deeper options you can mix in that you’ll find farther down in this article.
