NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Picks for Week 1 (Fantasy Football)
Footclan, I’m excited to bring my favorite FanDuel GPP picks to you here in the DFS pass every week this season. Building winning GPP lineups is tough. There are, however, some key things to look for when filling out your roster. First and foremost is ceiling; we want the players with the potential to score the most points. Next is leverage; we want the players that fall through the cracks. Finally, we want to build a lineup that tells a winning story through game script and stacking.
For a deeper dive into GPP strategy, check out the Tournament Strategy episode that Borg and Betz put out over the offseason, and make sure to stay locked into the DFS and Betting Podcast.
A final note before diving into the GPP picks: Don’t ignore Borg’s Cash Picks article. It pairs perfectly with this one, as it’s typically a good idea to mix some value plays into your lineup, especially if they fit the GPP-winning story you write.
Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts @ NE – $9,000
As I just mentioned, there will occasionally be overlap with Borg’s cash picks. He already laid out a case for Hurts, so I’ll try not to rehash it too much. The Eagles are only favored by four points, implying that Hurts and Philly may need to keep their foot on the gas through the fourth quarter. As Betz pointed out in the Vegas Report for Week 1, they rarely had to do that last season. Between his elite pass-catchers, ability to make plays with his legs, and the still legal tush push, Hurts has a clear path to becoming the top QB on the slate if New England can hang around. Stacking him with the right pass catcher could ultimately unlock his GPP potential.
