NFL DFS FanDuel Conference Championship Picks (Fantasy Football)
DFS strategy is different on small playoff slates, and it doesn’t get much smaller than Conference Championship week. It’s important to get unique, but it becomes tricky when you only have four teams to choose from. I focus more on tournaments than cash games on this size slate, where, ultimately, we’re looking for the highest ceiling and a few sports to get different, if it makes sense.
Choosing a game script you believe in and setting your lineup accordingly is paramount. For an overview of how things could go this weekend, check out the “Plan of Attack” sections that Borg added to his Pace of Play article this week.
Lamar Jackson vs. KC – $8,800
Lamar has the highest ceiling on the slate, as he’s shown with nine(!) total TDs over his last two games. He topped 36 FD points in each of those games and he has the luxury of playing at home, where he averages 23.1 fantasy points/game. The only question is whether he makes sense from a game theory perspective. He has the ability to break the slate but will drag down a lineup if he fails at $1,100 more than the next most expensive QB.
Jared Goff @ SF – $7,200
Goff is the contrarian play of the weekend. The prevailing narrative is that he doesn’t perform on the road, but the weather is looking ideal in San Fransisco, and Goff is no stranger to Levi’s Stadium, where he has a 2-2 record as a starter. He doesn’t provide any juice in the running game, so you’ll have to stack him with one or more other Lions and find some 49ers to run it back with in hopes of a shootout.
