Locked-In Cash Plays
Borg – I find myself wanting to lock in Chase Brown and his insane workload. He saw 100% of the RB rush attempts and a whopping 52% of the team’s total rush attempts and targets in Week 1. That is an insane number and honestly something we should be paying $8K or more for if I just took away the name and replaced it with a workload figure. I want Bengals in my cash lineup and Brown might be the best when factoring in salary between the big-3 options.
Betz – Christian McCaffrey had the mid-week calf scare last week, and Kyle Shanahan still gave him a league-high 31 touches in Week 1 against Seattle. With Mac Daddy Jones under center and George Kittle on the shelf, McCaffrey should be option A, B and C for the Niners on Sunday against New Orleans. There’s definitely paths to fading him in GPPs given the low game total and efficiency concerns without Purdy, but the workload projection is silly.
DraftKings Core Plays
These are the 3-5 players at each position we have mixed in our cash player pool. Based on salaries, late news, and budget constraints, it is guaranteed you will not be able to fit in all of them. But their high floors and team-implied totals make them great plays for the week in both cash & GPPs.
These are simply in order of favorite core players. You obviously won’t be able to fit all in a cash lineup and there are salary tradeoffs for paying up at each position.
| DraftKings-QB | BORG | BETZ |
| 1 | Lamar Jackson | Lamar Jackson |
| 2 | Joe Burrow | Drake Maye |
| 3 | Justin Fields | Justin Fields |
| 4 | Jalen Hurts | Joe Burrow |
| 5 | Mac Jones | Mac Jones |
We have some nice values again this week, particularly at WR, TE and DST, so there’s enough money to go around to get up to one of the studs in cash if you’d like. We prefer Lamar given Baltimore’s slate-high 28.5 implied team total and his ability to get the job done with either his arm or his legs. Down in the cheap range, Drake Maye, Justin Fields and Mac Jones are in play, but just be aware that if Lamar goes for 25+ DK points, you could get steam rolled in cash if Jones fails.
