Each week we will review some of the content found in the DFS Pass and discuss some of our most confident plays heading into Sunday. A lot can change over the weekend, especially with injury news (See Betz’s Injury Blitz podcast) and roster percentages shifting who is in-or-out before roster lock time. Let’s review.

Locked-In Cash Plays

Borg – It’s really hard for me to get away from Drake London in cash constructions this week. I know, I know I have some Falcons homerism that you think that might be creeping up. He was an alpha with Penix in those final 3 starts last year with a 40% target share and he went 12/154/1 against these Buccaneers at home. Tampa Bay played the highest rate of zone coverage in the NFL last year (80%) and London saw 33% of team’s 1st read targets versus zone, 8th best among WRs. He is too cheap in Week 1 and I love the dome matchup. And yes, I am already stressed thinking about it.

Betz – Emeka Egbuka is only $4,600 in what profiles as a potential shootout with Kyle’s Falcons. Godwin is obviously not ready to return from his ankle injury while Jalen McMillan is on IR, meaning Egbuka will be an every down player right out of the gate. The first round draft pick should hit the ground running.

DraftKings Core Plays

These are the 3-5 players at each position we have mixed in our cash player pool. Based on salaries, late news, and budget constraints, it is guaranteed you will not be able to fit in all of them. But their high floors and team-implied totals make them great plays for the week in both cash & GPPs.

These are simply in order of favorite core players. You obviously won’t be able to fit all in a cash lineup and there are salary tradeoffs for paying up at each position.

DraftKings-QB BORG BETZ
1 Trevor Lawrence Jayden Daniels
2 Jayden Daniels Trevor Lawrence
3 Joe Burrow Joe Burrow
4 Drake Maye Drake Maye
5 Daniel Jones Daniel Jones

We mentioned this on the podcast but Jayden Daniels is too cheap to be the QB1 on this slate. Last year we had four other QBs priced above this for Week 1 and when you consider the built-in scrambles, he is a cheat code. You can either spend up on Daniels or Burrow or spend down with Lawrence or Maye. It comes down to the opportunity cost and which other RB & WR studs you fit in if you were to save some cash.
